This new paragraph from post 1 explains the update. If you do not want this feature, you do not need the update:
"I have learned to trade small lot sizes, so a trade can go a long way against me without it causing bother. I am happy to leave a loser up and running so long as it is making positive swap. KeepOpenPositiveSwapLosers is the input that allows Gday to override the normal trade exit if the trade is losing but the swap is positive."

:D

Thanks Steve, I'll turn this on...

I have also taken to using the Candlestick Trailing stop after BE rather than closing 1/3 of the trade at +50, which is providing more profits.

I was about to ask you about this because I noticed your Myfxbook results.

What are your CstTimeFrame and CstTrailCandles settings?

I forgot to say, guys. Watch the magic number in 1g; it is not my usual zero.

Thanks for the updated version. :D

You have no stop loss (positive swap pairs trade), no worst case (500, 1000 pips) scenario for closing heavy loosing trades?
No. Not yet, anyhow, but also no plans to have one.

V 1h is in post one. This is for those of us using the Candlestick trailing stop feature.

Gday sent an immediate trailing stop to my (then) only profitable trade, but at the low of yesterday's candle, which was below the (buy) order open price.

There were a couple of thingies in the code that needed rearranging - the order in which breakeven and cst functions are called.

I have added a new input: CandleTrailAfterBreakevenOnly. If enabled, this tells Gday to trail only if the stop loss is already at BE or better. If disabled, Gday will trail the stop anyhow so long as (taking a buy as an example):
  • the new stop is > than the current stop loss.
  • the market is above the low of the previous candle.
If CandleTrailAfterBreakevenOnly is enabled and you forget to set breakeven to operate, Gday does this for you. If even defaults to BE at 50 if you have not entered a value into JumpingStopTargetPips.

hmmm i cannot imagine, that making a few bucks with positive swap is better than losing a lot of bucks with a losing trade, if it's not turning into the right direction quickly. but time and experience will tell.

i added v1h to my demo and changed it to cs-trailing. curious about the results. at least now i get rid of the problem that the third position is closed together with the second position at +100 pips... IF this is caused by partclose, not by jsl. (i had this again 2 times today on eurcad and eurnzd :D )

Thanks Shelley. Thought so, but wanted to check.

Just checking that you understand that CstTimeFrame = 0 means the current chart time frame and so will be affected if you ever have reason to view the chart on a different tf. Can't see why you would, and I never do; just checking. If you do ever change chart tf, then set CstTimeFrame to 1440.
