I agree. We should follow Bob´s direction only. I will stay on message myself to not confuse things.
Yes but please give your thoughts and experience with TMA. I have an account I plan on just using the daily TMA with STO 7. That looks like dynamite.
Hi Bob,

You mean using the daily charts?
Well I am going to trade a separate account using the daily but stay with the 4H here in my main account. I want to see what it would be like to look at charts once a day, place any trades and leave them run. I wonder if I can discipline my self to leave them alone. I dont know how guys can watch a trade go 70 pips tothe good and back up to 20 then go to 100 and then back to 50 and then go to 150 and back up to 75 and so one. Dang I cant stand to watch a winning trade go back smaller again but thats what those high end chart traders do. Then it goes to 600 and backs up to 400 and then ............... sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh
I´m like you. I take the profit when it crosses the line and hop back in on the retrace to centerline. It seems a waste to me to sit tight while it goes back and forth.

As you can see this does not set up the same as TMA true with the same settings as ALs or TMA true I have. The lines are different.
Bob, the calculation of Al's TMA Fastline and TMA true are different and will never match.... There is an explanation somewhere on FF why and how - I will try and locate it tomorrow...

Same as Al, I never could get TMA true to work for me and also use FastLine TMA if & when I apply it.....

If you either post or PM me the mq4 of the "true" indicator you are presently using, I make the necessary changes for you ...

Cheers / Mop
After looking at 4 different TMAs Als is the one I chose to test. Mainly because I trust him and his experience. I still dont have a handle on his 4 TMA thing yet but at some point I will get there. I am very much a one thing at a time person so first up was making a TMA work on the 4H that seemed also to work within my system or better me. So that is where I will start. Basically I see this thing getting me into better position trade wise. Before if I miss a spot I would just reenter a 2nd level and get it there. TMA should decrease that part of my trading. ANYWAY fast AL here we come.
Here is a picture of what you are looking for with MTF TMA. Here are the 4 TMAs, the D1 (Aqua) reaches the top of the W1 (Green), the H4 (Magenta) reaches the top of the D1 and the H1 (Orange) reaches the top of the H4. A major turn in price is imminent. The first sign of the change in trend is in H1 which turns sideways and begins to turn down. At this point you begin to get the bigger moves. H4 follows turning down. You can enter at top and exit at cross of H4 opposite line and then wait for the retrace to centerline on H4 to reenter short. You keep reentering until H4 TMA reaches the botton line of D1 and it starts to turn up again. Then you enter longs until the setup in the picture happens again, etc. By the way, the W1 is not essential. The important ones for the cycle are D1, H4 and H1. This happens over and over again. MTF TMA is a money machine...

If you really want excitement I put this on a 4H EUR/NOK chart and this is what it looks like. This pair ranges well and mounts the pips quickly. You put a small stop loss on this baby and your cooked in less than 5 minutes. This is a 4H chart. The biggest single 4H bar is 600 pips. If you want to know what I do when I am bored here it is. Lets see a 10 cent trade that goes 600 pips in the whole in less than 4 hours is 60 bucks. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

This is what I do when I get bored. :) I should open a thread at FF just for this pair and watch new traders get heart attacks.

I dont have the MTF TMA unless your FAST AL can be set up to do that.

All you need to do is load the indi 4 times and in time frame, instead of Current, set the first one on H1, the second on H4, the third on D1 and the 4th on W1. Change the colors on each one. It woud be nice if you use the same colors that I use so we know what we are looking at when we post charts. I use dotted lines on H1and H4 and segmented lines on D1 and W1.

Would really appreciate it (as I have some questions and dont want to mess with Bob's thread...)

Cheers / Mop
Mob, for now I want to remain with Bob and help where I can. Running my own thread is too time consuming and I simply don´t have the time right now. I will be glad to answer your questions if you PM me when I have time.
I would prefer you guys to keep up the TMA thing here so we all can learn. Frankly I would like to see more input from others and I take more of a back seat. I understand what AL is saying. Keeping up with a thread year after year can be draining.

I have always said my systems can be combined with what you already use and know so .......... we see how it goes.
Bob, two weeks ago I tested Fast TMA with a TMA period set to 55 (55 Bold's or 50 Al's are almost the same) targeting the bands as a TP with awesome results.

Last week I tested the TMA period with 20 (not 10) as someone mention also to target the bands with horrible results because I ended up getting out of the trade very early. Then tried to adjust the TP every 4 hours to the new band set and what happened is that I never reached the target.

In my opinion is best to work with 50 - 55 because the read is for the last 50 bars and the targets are reached without adjusting them.

Hope this helps

I totally agree that it is much better for AL to post his developments here in 10.6 thread. That way we have all the developments under one roof. Both BOB and AL have a unique talent and gift in managing to convey their hard gained knowledge and experience in easily digestible and understood documents. At some point in the near future, once we have agreed on the best settings and combination of TMA, CSS, etc we can ask Steve to kindly write an EA with email alerts for manual trading. Thus saving us having to be stuck to our monitors scanning multiple time frames. Presently Steve is not available due to personal commitments, please do not approach him till the time that he is actively contributing to the thread.

Kind regards
P.S. recently I have been looking at NB 4H VER5 with nostalgia. If we had CSS at that time most of our DD would had been almost non existent.

So, maybe place TP on TMA set to 55 and ATR 2.0. And the enter with TMA set to 10 and at ATR 1.0. It would be judicious ?
