Here's my latest disaster. Of course I missed the GBP/AUD and EURAUD sells, which would have worked out well, the only one I got in on was the GBP/CAD. What a dog of a trade. Even though the sell trend arrow is still there, I'm not sure how much longer I can stand watching this pair going through the roof... :x

Do you use CSS or a strength meter of some sort? I use two...on daily, 4hr and 15 min. Both daily have GBP as the strongest, hence I do not short any GBp pairs, regardless of the signals. Just my .02

If I was to short GBP, it would be scalps off the 5 or 15 min.

Adam,

you were going against D1 + H4 trend, nonetheless there was a SELL.
There may be a trend change, but you should take the risk into account,
for example by smaller SL or smaller units.

Fair point, although I was under the impression the HGI signals were derived from the CSS data, so I haven't been paying much attention to the CSS levels. I could certainly use a better way to filter out bad trades though....maybe only taking trades with the trend, but that seems to rule out a lot of good trades too.

Josch,
Yes, I've resisted trading only with the trend as it seemed to rule out a lot of winning trades, but trades like this make me seriously reconsider!

Adam,

agree, a project to research the pros & cons trading retracements,
possibly developing changes of trend would be an interesting one.

As per Bob's instruction, I am trading from wave to wave, only green waves for that matter. My question is, do I need to be constantly opening and closing the Empty4 or do I keep the Empty4 on and trade the chart as it is without restarting the platform? Many thanks for any help given!

Suggest you read the HGI PDF and this thread before you begin live trading. They will give you the answer to your question and many other questions that will arise in trading this system. It is not realistic to jump into any system without studying it. Demo accounts are good training grounds to eliminate loss of capital while learning. Good Luck!

HGI compares each individual pairs angle of movement, in other words the two pairs on the screen. CSS compares all the cross pairs and compares their angles and comes up with an overall average. So a EUR line is the average of its cross of 6 or 7 pairs for the CSS line. That is found in my 10.7 CSS. HGI is just the angle of the two on the screen so the reads are independent of what other pairs maybe doing. I hope this helps.

depending on how you trade you are in a range time so price has a good chance of going back to 0. The 60 line is giving that read so it is still possible this trade will be successful,

Yes, it's all coming back to me now. Might have a closer look at CSS as a trade filtering aid.
Thanks for your input Bob.
