Just to let you guys know, trendinator has been in touch and will be back replying in a few hours. I am unlocking this thread so there are no problems on his return.

In the meantime, I am keeping a close eye on what happens here. Any of you guys care to misbehave on my watch?

I said 'I'll be back' didn't I?

Well looks like we've learnt a couple things from this first test run. To summarise:

1. HGI needs 550 bars in the history. My instructions were to set it to 300 as I thought HGB needed only 100 bars. My fault, sorry.

2. Timing of setup is a potential issue due to HgiReadDelaySeconds. This will need to be tested further.

3. The setup instructions according to the manual sometimes failed due to a bug in Open Charts in Alphabetical Order Indicator, causing it to crash Empty4 build 765. This has been fixed here: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 31#p111831

Anything I missed here?

Can everyone please check the journal and expert logs to see if you had any errors.

We will aim for a new test round next week Monday 19th. Details coming soon.

I want to make this suggestion again that I posted a few pages back, that the best few accounts be asked to post their Profile so others (you, I guess) can confirm their setup, because at the moment we don't have any way to confirm what their setup was:
At this early stage, it's already interesting to see the huge differences between the best and worst performers, and I guess that difference will grow as the week progresses. We are eventually going to have to work out why. Some questions that occur to me: did everyone use H4, or did some people use the default H1 TF that charts open? Did everyone use all 28 pairs? Did everyone use ootb settings, or did some people intentionally or unintentionally use their former or favourite settings? With just investor access to accounts, it will be impossible to find out, won't it?

It seems to me that a fast way to move ahead would be for say the 5 best accounts each week to save their setups as a Profile, and post that Profile, so that others can confirm the settings, pairs and TFs. If asked, I for one would be happy to do that - although at the moment, it doesn't look as though my tests are going to be among the best.

ok sounds like a good idea. perhaps for the next test we could create a profile and get everyone to load that? would that work?

Just two theoretical questions:

- Would it help to use a TradingTime setting, even if it is like -10.00,+10.00 to synchronize instances. I ask this because I used TT settings in my tests (described in the BoHGB thread) and saw that different instances often executed trades almost on the same millisecond.

- As this is certainly no scalping EA, and we have ReadDelay of 60 seconds, why do we run this EA on ticks?
What would happen if you run it on 'EveryTickMode=false'? Is there any reason that we need the Tick mode?

Should we also have everyone on the same version of Empty4. Steve does not guarantee his code on the later builds especially 7xx. I am running Version 4.0 Build 645. Steve did post the terminal.exe for the version he uses but I am not sure where
