I have done some clearing up here tonight. My apologies to any member whose contributions I have removed in error.

bigpipn made the silly mistake of pissing off scoobs and has had his registration removed as a result. In fact, scoobs removed his registration only a tad before I did the same; some of bigpipn's posts woule have been highly offensive to many here.

Sorry for any confusion thus caused.

I think I found a bug:

When I load the EA, sometimes it fires up the buy and sell at market price and draws the grid as it's supposed to do (everything fine here)... but somtimes... as soon as I load it, it automatically opens at market price 10 orders in one direction (look at the picture).

The set file when it works and when it doesn't is EXACTLY THE SAME (attached)

I can't find no logical explanation for this

Ok re my previous message: Even though I have no idea of WHY it works, I found a solution just in case someone's experiencing the same problem.

First, I was loading the EA on several charts by saving it as a template on the first one I attached and just loading it on the rest of the charts... then it happened... chart by chart... the EA started opening 10 trades in one direction (wrong).

What I did:

- Set maxbars in chart to 3000 and 2000 in my Empty4
- Reload Empty4
- close all charts and reload them again, fresh from the market panel
- switch them to M30 as opposed to H1 (Don't know why I did this to be honest)
- load the bot on each of the charts by dragging it and loading the setfile

:)

Hope this helps.

Now people need to start experimenting with different combinations of what I think are the vital parts of this EA: 1) Grid Size, 2) Take profit (in pips or cash) 3) Look for Breakeven After

Im trying different combinations on 15 pairs to find the most profitable setup for each one over a month. JPY pairs look the most promising at first glance.

Thanks for the EA

You guys must remember that Empty4 is exactly that - utter crap. Just because if allows you to do something, does not mean that the something it allows you to do is a good idea.

If what you do is load up an EA then save the resulting chart as a template, then load up chart after chart after chart, adding the template to it wham wham wham, you are piling up problems for yourselves.

Actually, even if Empty4 were not crap, it would probably still object to this kind of treatment.

Ok, so when we get a new toy we want to play with it and see what it will do. Not much point in having a new toy unless we play with it and test it out. Just bear in mind that when we test such toys to destruction, then what we get is destruction.

Activating the occasional firing brain-cell when testing EA's is usually a reasonably good idea.

Understood. Actually, proceeding in the manner described in my last post worked like a charm. No more problems whatsoever; the EA is doing what it's supposed to do.

The coding is very good and the logic is sound. I think all I need to make this EA profitable is to test a shitload of settings on every pair, and after a decent amount of testing time pick up the best pairs/settings and assemble a basket of EA's that trade each pair with their best respective settings.

I like the fact that this EA only makes profit when we get a trend but unlike so many other EA's I've tested, it doesn't get raped when we don't get one (because of the hedge)... we just might get a little DD but that's fine with me. That's why this guy is getting 10 instances for testing on one of my demo 24-5 computers

Cheers

Thanks !

Does somebody have a set which doesn't blow the account for the last 3 years? Unfortunately a slowing amplitude increase sinwave can blow the account.
Even with this risk this looks a promising EA.

Bro, just try 20 grid size, 50 pip TP, breakeven after 4 trades on all the JPY pairs. You'll make money.

By the way, I also encountered the Market is trending (0) Error on 2 charts: One had a grid already open (EU) and one had the TMA lines already drawn (see screenshots).

[quote="jb68"]

First, I just removed the EA's and reloaded them on the same exact charts (did not close them).

- The EU chart after reloading the bot "picked" up the grid that was already drawn before removing the BOT which showed the (0) error. The read was still (0) so basically the reload on the same chart did NOTHING.
- The UJ with no grid open but the TMA lines drawn chart did exactly the same thing: still marked (0), no change whatsoever...

Then I tried CLOSING the charts and reloading them on fresh charts (keep in mind that there was grid trades already open for EU)... this is what happened:

- The EU chart STILL marked "Marked is trending (0)" and it DIDN'T pick the grid s I had to use the scripts to get it back on track
- The UJ chart still marked "Marked is trending (0)" and re-drawn the TMA lines, as in awaiting for a trade open

I have no idea what the problem could be. With enough supervision and manually intervening when we get this minor bugs, everything's fine as you can see. Keep in mind I have like 10 instances with 15 charts each running so that may be the cause

I also saw some grids opening only on one side for GBPNZD and EURNZD (ONLY THOSE PAIRS) accross 3 of my platforms... Script solved the problem

Hello guys,

I tried everything, reloading charts, clearing history in Empty4 folders, but nothing, my gertje is stucked : "Market is : (0)".

Maybe that's because i shut down the laptop on the night, my girlfriend does'nt like sleeping with the laptop running, maybe i should disconnect the leds on the frontside : my dear, the laptop is shut off? Yes, Yes :)
