Rene, I am not sure if adding the 'new' and 'delete' operators does more than initializing the variable in the global scope. When I check the Help, specifically this page, it seems to me there is hardly any difference. SandR in the original post updated with a check for NULL. Paul |

Hi Paul, The delete command runs the destructor code (the one with the ~), which in turn destructs its member objects. Without running the destructor code, you will see in the Experts tabs that it leaves objects behind. Anyway, up to you how you want to run this. Cheers ... |

Rene, The help page in the link the I posted in my previous post clearly states that the constructor and deconstructor are called for global variables. This is why no explicit dynamic creation is needed. As for the memory leak, I have tested and debugged this up and down but have not found any. Please point me in the right direction. And lastly, please assume that I know about object-oriented programming. Thank you, Paul |

Turned into a programming discussion.... Slipshod - I was re-reading several pages back where we discussed many levels fail, few hold, and SR lines seems to work better than zones. A good read. I'm trying something new - EA that uses 15 minutes levels with breakout strategy. It's testing now on a demo. If I compare this to running H1 levels looking for the typical entry (Sam's method), the breakout seems to be working better. I'm using 15 minute for the breakout because these levels rarely hold. Think of it as a breakout strategy that happens to use levels instead of a look back. Have you made any progress with HGI and SR together? It looks like a manual system but the larger time frames move slow enough that it can be done. Are you doing it manually? |

Hi Blueface, I'm not sure what version you're running, but the indicator has always shown boxes, not horizontal lines. Maybe you have a variant that someone else modified? Anyway, I've come to the realization that I'm highly unlikely to again have the time or motivation to work on this indicator or the library. I don't actually use it in my own trading as I prefer to draw my own levels, which means thinking about them rather than trusting what a computer program tells me, but I can see the value this indi might have to other traders and to EAs that use it. Therefore I'd really like to hand it over to another coder here, if someone would like to take it on & run with it. My only request is that the indicator, the library and their sourcecode be kept freely available to the members of this forum. If you'd like to step up, please send me a message as I don't always receive notifications when there's posts to this thread (despite being subscribed), which is why I haven't responded to the last few messages here. |
