The weekly S/R lines are still important, very important. I know I dont have them in the new update but that is because I want to keep my screen clean. Right now I switch to the 10.2 screen for comparisons. I took my profit of the eur/usd at S1 today. So I had two very profitable eur/usd trades. One from the bounce off of the monthly pivot crossing my pivot your R2 back to the weekly pivot. Then I took a second from the break of the weekly pivot down to S1. Now I will wait and see where the daily pivot goes but will have a sell below that that S1, you place a bet on that one for sure. |

I am working on a clean screen that uses S1/R1 lines and still looks neat and clean. Will post it if I find it. Change the S1/R1 lines to wheat and they subtly fit into the screen without making it look like bad spaghetti. |

Here is where I like this look S1/R1 wheat color, S2/R2 white. The screen looks neat and clean and easy to trade those three main pivot lines with profit lines lightly shown in the back. You can see my sell pending below S1 and the previous swing low. 190 pips to S2, go go go baby. |

How does this all play out. Slope shows range and angle is low. Break of S1 will make the slope go into -4 territory, further movement will make it go into -8. How strong will the move be? if it goes back up then the range is on and we have our breakout points to use. Monthly pivot for new UT. S1 for break back into DT. Break of S2 for continued big moves. Time will tell but you guys all know what to look for now. The boundaries for the next BO have been established. |

I am not entirely convinced that it matters whether the various pivots are exactly equivalent universally. "I am not entirely convinced" is code for, "It doesn't matter a hoot." The whole point of all this is to establish a trend. If the daily pivot > weekly pivot > monthly then the trend is up. This seems ludicrously simple to me and blatantly obvious. Why did I not think of this before? Because I am not a genius like Bob. So, does it matter a toss whether one's individual crim's chart/pivot identifier presents a pivot at 1.2540 or 1.2550? I suggest not. Whatever the value of the pivot, once crossed then it becomes tradable. Having said that, bear in mind my signature. Edit: I typed the above whilst Bob was adding his 4 latest. Not sure if my post is relevant now. |

Bit hard to do since my today's pivots might be different to others' today's pivots. Especially as I do not know what other traders' pivots are. I suggest you refrain from beating yourself up about this and let other traders sort out their pivots for themselves. You have given us a framework, so it is up to us to make something of it. A more general point is this: different crims = different feeds = different pivots. It is the psychological importance of the pivot that counts, not the exact-to-the-pip value of that pivot. A tenner says that the high of the current H1 candle will show up differently on enough crims charts to reinforce my point. No way of proving it, mind. |

Yes I agree we should observe this week and then decide on the Pivot thingy. I also agree with Steve when he says 10 pip different does not make a damn difference. Providing it is only 10 or even 20 pips difference (since we are trading H4 and D1), anything more than that and maybe we should reconsider. The system is pure genius, IMHO the slope indicator could help in turning many borderline systems into profitable ones (by systems I mean EAs as well). Bob when you say you had one of your best Mondays ever, you should judge what proportion of your profits are purely due to the system and how much is because of the system. I have watched your trades for the last four years and have witnessed your efforts with Research and development. As you mentioned before in order to trade you need some straight lines across the screen and some diagonal ones and from what I have seen you would have made decent profits today even without the pivots!!! The beauty of 10.2 is that even a novice can be profitable if the stick to the rules, maybe not as profitable as more experienced or knowledgeable trader but profitable nonetheless. Kind Regards |

Here's my EURUSD daily pivot values on two brokers: Axitrader 1.2543 Cowboy IBFX 1.2524 20 pips is quite a big jump for a daily pivot if you ask me, however - still tradable? For sure! |
