Post subject:  10.6 EDSEL v 2.0 range trade

Hi BOB
V2.0 is simple and easily digestible. Would it be safe to presume that as long as the pair is ranging a 1.2.4 or a 1.1.2.4 recovery is a good bet.
Kind regards

Depends on what happens. If I trade in the direction of CSS strength a second trade is usually all I ever need. If I am trading against CSS strength I just bail out and take a loss. I think the TMA will reduce the need for 2nd entrances. See my next post as to why.

10.6 edsel tma range trade
usd/chf trade yesterday I profited at the top of the TMA band for 22 pips. Price is in range area so it retraced to the bottom. I am now going to trade back into the slightly stronger USD but CSS of both is at the stop sign so they are not going anywhere fast right now.
Again
1. Dummy light Goldenrod price is ranging
2. bottom of TMA
3. STO 7 on bottom
4. CSS read is negligible at this point

I can enter as soon as price moves up or at the DP. Top of TMA is the profit target.
Personally this is the jpy session so I have my entrace just above the last 2 highs of the 2 small candles. Will tp in 2-3 hours if it takes. JPY session trade for me.

The red arrow is where I posted my entrance for the jpy session. I also have a second position above the previous highs in case something crazy happens.

The 10.0 series is trying to trade into the trend. If you are into a trend trade and it reverses trying to last out through an entire trend reversal can be very difficult. 5.0 we tried to enter after the trend run was done and if it had one or two more spurts we could outlast it. That is the difference. We rarely got caught in a bad run, well except that stupid gbp/chf $%#%&$%^#&%$^&%#% So you dont want to get caught trying to recover an entire trend run.

This is why CSS is so important. You can know you are on the wrong side quickly when you see lines moving away from the 0 line. You know you are going to be on the wrong side and you could be for quite some time.

I concur. Recovery is for CT / range trading. At the beginning of 10.0 series you pointed out that recovery for trend trading is not only futile but a bit foolish. Few weeks ago you told me to learn CSS and after few weeks the importance of this indicator is quite apparent. Mind you with dummy lights and TMA the tools are handed to us on a plate.
Kind regards
P.S. ONE more question and I leave you in peace. I have been toying with TSI as suggested by AL. Using it instead of STO7 in range trading. What are your thoughts on +ve or -ve aspects of using TSI instead of STO7?

I would not substitute STO7 with anything. I use TSI to confirm what STO7 is saying. It acts as a filter of not so good trades like TMA does.
