Hi Tommaso
I am struggling to set the APTM to do the following:-
I want to set a stop loss when I place my trade. Really as a long stop which will stay fixed.
I then open the APTM with a view to setting a trailing or a jump stop to begin when my trade moves into profit.
What seems to be happening is that my broker cancels my fixed stop when I open APTM. So somewhere I am not setting APTM to do what I want.
Sorry to sound dim, but if you can help,it would be appreciated.
regards seeker

Sounds you should watch out for a new broker, try GlobalPrime

Cheers :)

Firstly thank you for this fantastic bit of kit.
I am having an issue between the screen and my index fingers unfortunately, and I would greatly appreciate a little guidance.

My aim is:
When dropping the "RAD multi level scrip" onto the chart it places a 30 pip Stop on the opening of a position.
When +20 points is reached, it closes 50% and moves the remaining trade to opening value +5 points.

I know this is a basic setting procedure, and I apologize for my ignorance. I have had several attempts in getting it to work after going over your instructions without success.

Richard

With all due respect to Tommaso the preset wasn't exactly how asked for.
I see a few people have downloaded it.
The attached preset is working like a dream. It locks in profit quickly.

Glad to see you found the setting that works for you, I see Mike was right...

Post subject:  [NewFunctions!!] AllPairTradeManager(APTM)

march 28th,2015
Update with new functions:
UseCloseFriday, if you set this to true the APTM will close all orders opened by this EA at FridayCloseHour you set and FridayCloseMinute (used is the broker time)
UseCloseAllAtDefinedTime, setting this to true the APTM closes at the user defined time all open trades use CloseHour and CloseMinute to set your wished time. Used is broker time.
New Trailing is more flessible as you have the possibility for different SLMinDistance inputs for the BE setting and the JumpingStop function, as always you can let APTM let this calculate with the ATR.
These are the modified inputs:
SLMinDistanceToPriceBE pips NewSL at BE must have distance to price
SLMinDistanceToPriceJS pips NewSL after moving SL must have distance to price
atrMultiplicatorForSLMinDistanceToPriceBE
atrMultiplicatorForSLMinDistanceToPriceJs these are used if you let the APTM automatic second ATR calculate.

The new version build210 is attached to the first post, as always post here your questions (at exp.:if you need help with the settings), your requests for new functions and of corse if you spot that something is not working how it should!

I wish you all a nice weekend!!

Cheers :)

UPDATE: looks like I might have sorted it. I reset all the settings, so I must have messed something up somewhere.
Good to read that you have sorted it, let me know if you have any other question ..

Cheers :)

Hi followers and newcomers,

It seems to me, that there are difficulties to work with such advanced and complex tool, provided by "Milanese", to find personal adjustments resp. the appropriate settings, which will match in reference to strategies.

Let me talk something about the ATR.

The ATR originally will measure the current volatility, depending on the settings.
It measures the HiLo-movements by average for the defined period (standard =14), resp. previous candles in the chosen timeframe.

Keep in mind, that using the ATR-settings in conjunction with the EA, we have to consider 3 variables.

- the timeframe (OOTB = 240 = H4)

- the ATR-period (OOTB = standard =14 “candles)

- the multiplier ( mostly > 1.0 to increase the distances, especially for TP in reference to risk-reward-ratios) the EA will calculate and use.

Please not, that the multiplier might be < 1.00 too, to reduce the amount of pips for the distances, like e.g. the SL, considering the other parameters.
Be care, all three parameters will influence dynamically the distance in pips for TP, SL, trailing and partial close etc. differently.

We find the standard ATR-indicator in the Empty4-indicator folder or we can use custom ATR-indis, provided by me (#MTF-ATR) or by “MOB” in the Hidden Pending thread.--> http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 94#p118494
I prefer the later one too, because we can see, how the multiplier by calculation will influence the ATR-values (curve). Thanks again to Mob.

To trail and understand how the ATR will work in general, try to set the ATR-period = 1.
It will supply the actual volatility of the timeframe (current candle) used and we can trail how the vola will permanently change, calculating and indicating the actual movements in pips.

It should be not mentioned: For testing we should use a demo-account.

In addition: The ATR shows the oscillating pip-movements and not the direction, but we can recognize by an increasing curve in the graph, if the (main-) trend is still stable, considering also the average pip-movement (vola) in the appropriate trading hour.
Refer to previous post in the HP-thread to find a link with a hourly vola-histogramm-chart, which will indicate the maximum pip-movement by average expected about 24h trading hours.

For followers who are not firm with, switch off the ATR-features completely in the first part of the EA-settings.

Using the HPEA, we can e.g. recognize by the orderlines, which distances by ATR are used for open trades.
With the APTM we will see by defaults e.g. the ATR-calculated locations of TP and SL.

Before you are experimenting with changed settings, create a set-file with the OOTB-Settings before or remove the EA by re-initializing, before getting confused.

I recommend also to make sreenshots of the setting-window, to reproduce and record what has been changed.

Hope that helps a little bit.

In sense of "Tommaso", ask questions for further clarifications

Moving on
