As I have stated many times over, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, and when I read something, I get only about 25% of the information that the rest of you would get, so even though I am subscribed to the HGI related threads, and read each new posting as I am notified of them, I would just like to make sure of the following:

The new version 2d that Steve and the team has kindly released sounds promising, I would like to confirm that we can use this version to:

1) take trades based on wavy lines, that are confirmed by the large trend arrow, and that we can define the number of look back arrows?
2) we can use the above parameters on any time frame we see fit

Hi Hannes

Obviously you have taken the time to read most of the thread so take it easy about being flamed...

You are almost right with observations 1. and 2. except that you cannot expect to use it on "any" TF because of the 60/240 issue. Bob explained why a few post back, the lower TF's are not and will not give you all the information you require to enter the trade with the same level of confidence as entering on H4 or D1. That said, there are those who are tweaking the settings to potentially trade H1 or lower.

Thanks RM for the kind reply. I hear what Bob is saying about the lower TF, they seem to give quite a few "false" signals, problem is you do not know which are the "false" signals (I use the term false very loosely, I understand that the circumstances change very quickly on the lower TF's, hence the "false" signals). I intend to use the 4H TF, from my testing it seems that there are more than enough trades there... Would you know if there is a maximum look back function limit? Sometimes the trend arrows take quite a while before making their appearance... Cheers Hannes

Merry Christmas Steve, hope I brought a smile to your face Would anyone have a plan of how to deal with the signals that sometimes disappear when circumstances change? I have opened a trade only to close it due to the above, and also, I have closed a trade early also as a result. Using my limited reasoning ability, I have come to the conclusion that instead of breaking my head over it, just take the bath and move on, as it seems that the winners should make up for the above occurrences, who agrees? Hannes As you said, the signals disappear because circumstances have changed, so the reason that you entered the trade is no longer valid. So then it's just a matter of, "If it ain't goin' your way, blow it away!" If it is going your way, put a trailing stop on it, and let it run its course. Same as any business, cut your losses, and let your profits grow Ahhh, Christmas... It's all about the presence! Have fun! Radar =8^)

Thanks Radar, just wanted the confirmation. This is another strong point that I think people miss, the EA will actually tell you when a trade is not a trade anymore by virtue of the "repainting" that everyone loves to hate, think of it this way, it is not repainting, in reality it is giving you another signal... Then, trailing stops, those are another creature all by themselves...deciding on how to use them according to the ADR etc...eish I have a lot of work to do. Hannes

Hey Hannes, We've all been looking for the perfect entry system for so long, that many of us have forgotten to take a serious look at trade & money management. There have been a few good discussions on both topics, and some good concepts and code have come from them, but, eventually, they fell to the wayside in the hunt for the perfect entry. Fxdaytrader came up with this, which I've put into my current project, but I think it's time that we revisited those discussions, and developed them further. Have fun! Radar =8^)

First of all id like to thank everyone who contributed in creating this wonderful trading system! There is talk about 28 pairs several times in the hgb thread. I have 41 pairs in my Global Prime terminal. Which is the 28 pairs I should focus on?
