[*]The trading styles are mutually exclusive, 'TradeByLevel' has precedence over 'TradeByDifference'.
[*]At each initialization Baluda will ask if the tresholds need to be reset. 'Yes' means that Baluda deletes all tresholds.[/list]
Again, all levels, differences and tresholds are Slope values which pertains to currencies, not symbols.

Hi Paul,

I think we understand this - I think zypip and I perhaps haven't explained well enough what we mean.

- All our comments relate to trade by difference (trade by levels is perfect imo - thank you).
- As you stated above when you trade by difference the difference between the currencies that make up a particular pair trigger a trade or not based on the threshold (0.8 default) and close when the difference goes below 0.4 (default) - fantastic
- The absolute KEY part imo is this:
[*]Currencies are not traded before they have been ranging. This is detemined by the 'StartingTreshold', so Baluda waits until a currency has been between -0.3 and 0.3. (Currency is waiting...)
This makes perfect sense for trade by level. It makes less sense when you use trade by difference as you don't care whether each of the individual currencies was ranging - what you care about is the relative strengths of the currencies - whether the difference between 2 currencies was below a value (say 0.4) - that is really the ranging definition of trading by the difference.

I hope that makes sense.

I honestly think the trade by difference has more potential than trade by level and I already think trade by level is great!

Thanks for all your efforts.

Dave.
Well, I have nothing to add to this, this is exactly that, thanks Dave.

Please Paul, I wouldn't like you to think that we are messing around here trying to add filters here and there so as to "improve" the EA and try to complicate the system when the basic idea is simple.

Here, instead, the original idea for the tradebydiff threshold was as explained by Dave above. This is not new information. The original information was just not conveyed to you properly the first time (I think may be I should apologise for it because it may have been me that originiated this) and we (at least I) only realised that yesterday when Dave raised the issue.

Again, your time is appreciated. Have a good weekend. Cheers.

I am experimenting with narrowing the openDiff and closeDiff levels, (.8 and .75, respectively),preferring closure to DD, which I eventually saw this morning.
If a given pair that closed returns to .8, it should again open. I will let you know how that goes.
My four hr. hung on to close at double the initial balance with monster lot sizes of 10% risk, with a federal holiday at that. Glenn

I think that's a good idea. I am going to see if I can change the TF the diff works from as well as I think it may produce interesting results - off on vacation for a couple of weeks so it will have to wait though.

Just got caught up on the Baluda thread. Looks like an interesting EA.

I'm placing the "level" on ootb.
I've placed one diff on the 240TF with .8 open and .6 close...I agree with winstead about the DD but I'll sneak up on it.
I've placed another diff on the 1440 with .8/.6

The 1440 has opened a couple of trades. Diff's are too low on the H4 right now.

Will keep the group posted.

Paul,

regarding the idea from harry45, about using the 12 sma in the currency slope diff indie,
i think it can help us enter earlier on the daily chart with reduced risk.

using the chart below as an example,
we enter buy if diff is >0.4 and above the 12 sma and if dailypivot is above weekly pivot.
we enter sell if diff<-0.4 and is a lower value than the 12 sma , and if daily pivot is below weekly pivot.

using the 12sma as a guide, we should be able to stay on the right side of the daily momentum, and it keeps us out nicely when the momentum fades since the diff would fall below the 12 sma in uptrends n vice versa for downtrends.

we exit based on mptm basket of 200pips tp n sl.

any merit in this idea Paul? what do u guys think?

I have the same problem with my HF demo and real account, since the start.

I restarted both, click yes to initialize all treshold

My demo account currently has opened two trades today
and my real account is still showing "waiting" ...

In fact, everytime i do this refresh (to see if there is difference between demo and account)
both showing same pairs "waiting" but after a while, only demo opens trades :(

It's a shame because with demo account, i closed trades with NICE profit ,sniff
Something wrong, but i don't know where ..
Thanks :)

Did you check your expert and/or journal tab on the live account...are there any (error) messages related to the EA?

happy trading,

If You use" Diff.mode" set "UseStarting Treshold" to false.
Check history data.hope it helps.

Hi, no errors :)

Thanks ! That's it ;)
I have now trades opened

Ok, so for real account you have to set "UseStarting Treshold" to false,
and it's working. I use "Difference mode"

Thanks again harry45 ;)

Anyone have a recommandation for settings with MPTM ?
In fact i read the pdf for MPTM, and unless I am mistaken, i didn't find
in "Basket Take profit settings" the value or equal for BasketTP in Pips ?
I see only BTP in dollars or %.
As i have others eas with Baluda, i don't want to use the GlobalOrderClosure
and the value "ProfitinPips"
Sorry if it was explained before
Thanks again for your help ;)

The Baluda EA appears to have no sell settings for Difference, or am I missing something obvious ?
All times are UTC Page 20 of 27
