Re: 10.4 A Complete System
I would imagine that Hedge Funds and Algos try to close the gaps Bob - but the Algos scan the news headlines etc so unless you are already in I would wait out as it could be messy. Luckily I was long gold and short the S&P and Cable on Fri and I closed 1/2 of all positions for a tidy profit earlier. Free trades now so I intend to let them run.

LOL. You sit out on the week I go ballistic. Classic.nanningbob wrote:One of the things that drove me from Forex Factory was the constant personal attacks I took for defending low leverage/small lot trading. It is events like these that allow me to trade another day. No SL stops a gap. You take the big loss which may take you weeks or months to recover from. Also this can happen during the week also. If this story broke on Wed. you still would not have a SL guaranteed. I can lick my wounds and still be profitable this week. Other folks ............................

I took bigger in losses than in winners but I can make it up in one day, the difference between my winners and losers was not that big. My only regret is I should have played for bigger profits. SL didnt mean a thing or I would have made a profit.grimweasel wrote:I would imagine that Hedge Funds and Algos try to close the gaps Bob - but the Algos scan the news headlines etc so unless you are already in I would wait out as it could be messy. You have a total score for the entire currency versus the pairs with your broker those are yellow with the updated version, light blue with the one I had been using. Then there are the individual comparisons for each individual pair. For example if a currency pair is red or green it is trending at the greatest angle, greater than 8. If it is between 4 and 8 then they will still be shades of green and red. less than four then a different shade of green and red. Green meaning price is going up, red price is going down. The closer to 0 you get the less of the up or down angle price is moving.cmeade2 wrote:Bob
Thanks so much for the update.
I have a dumb question. Across the top of the info page are the CSS values for each of the currencies. Below a currency (e.g., Eur) will be listings for the various pairs (e.g, EurJpy).
What are the numbers that are listed for each of the pairs?

nanningbob wrote:Here are the updated indi for the 10.4 info page. Delete the slope strength indi and add the newer version plus add the CSS indi. I added 10.4 to the names so they would be easier to find. Your 10.4 page should look like this when you add them then adjust the lines into a clean screen. It takes time for it to update all the currency pairs you have but it will make sense to you. Make sure you use the daily screen or the lines will give you the TF you are on. I use the daily for my reads.
These numbers are then plugged into a line graph and you can compare them with each other. The line on top represents the currency with the most strength and movement and the line on the bottom is the weakest currency. As you watch the lines crossing each other you can tell which ones are moving up or getting stronger and ones moving down and getting weaker. You will notice that the JPY was the lowest at the end of 2012 and the weakest and many of us were selling it like crazy. Then you can see that the angle of downward trend reversed and GBP tooks it place and became the weakest currency so I have been selling the GBP like crazy. It looks like the JPY is going to take its place again. From Nov to almost Feb JPY was the weakest currency across the board but as it angled back up you can see that its weakness was lessening until the GBP took over. It was the 2nd weakest currency from end of December to beginning of Feb and then the weakest until now. We will see which currency now becomes the overall weakest pair so we can sell it.
During the same time the Euro was the strongest pair with the USD taking over and two brief periods the AUD was the strongest. We can watch these lines and know how the whole market is interacting with each other giving us clues on how to look for the best trades. So we took turns buying Euro, USD and sometimes AUD.
If my assessment is correct then we take the 2 strongest and 2 weakest currency groups and trade 10.4 with them and the ones in the middle, hanging around the 0 line and not moving much and/or ranging then 10.5 system may work better. Only time will tell but that is my trading theory right now.
Hi Bob
I have installed the updated indicators however i am getting different values and order for the same currency between the 2 different indicators.... I noticed in your screen shot the values and the order were the same.
I have attached a screen shot below:
Do you have any idea what might be causing this??
Thanks
Ash

This is one reason, you watch what happens to the gun fight in the USA now. Those of you who live in the USA would understand what would happen if they tried this in Montana, Arkansas, Idaho, Colorado etc etc. Sorry for some of the political crap Steve, hope you forgive me.

Guys have to remember that news events nullify indicators so we have to wait until indicators become valid again. Now you trade on gut or news but not indis. So much for my 10.5 intro.

However you can trade currencies that have not been affected by the news like nzd and aud etc.
I can still trade AUD strength so that is where I am going.

Re: 10.4 A Complete System
usd/jpy buy using crossing back above pivot line, AO below 0, price above 240 and USD strength. If euro takes a dive something has to go up. Maybe it is the USD and AUD that will.
