Sounds like a job for.......MPTM.

If this EA trades the way i've seen , it doesnt come near a big loss so far, maybe MPTM with a very high pip loss should kick in with a hedge. Maybe at say 50 pip and then in increments of 30, something like that. SOrt of like a security guard in-case the positions go really bad, then we can set closeatbreakeven to 'true' and it will get rid of that rogue trade and let the EA carry on with its business.
Sound like a plan guys?

That sounds like a plan. I am running it on a demo account and intend to leave it on for a while.
Do you think you can create a .set file for mptm and share with us?

Hi Bernard,
I have this EA up and running too on one of my Criminals, if you get that .set file for mptm please let me know, I will keep you informed with whatever my results are.

Hi all,
no problem, easy to set up, just i dont have much history on this EA so dont know what parameters to use.
any suggestions? i'll wait for a few hours to see if anyone has some ideas, and if not, i'll take a stab at it and post a set file. Usually, i would wait a lot longer, at least till i see it works profitably before posting. You know, dont want to put out rubbish on the threads.

Hi George, the EA already hedges losing positions internally as part of it's strategy, so there could be some conflict there maybe?

Hi Guys,
i wish it was that easy. Really not like that at all. To understand the settings, you need to understand how the EA works, and with just over a weeks worth of data, that definately is not going to cut it.
I can put out a set file , but i promise you it's like a shot -in-the dark.

The internal hedging doesnt look right to me yet. It might be my lack of understanding the EA , but for EG, today i had no trades on my standard demos, and a few on the 2 extremes. WHat i will do for now, is set up the demo list with the EA's showing, so you can all follow them. Check the demos from later tonight. Its 9pm here so in about an hour, i should be done.

For now, please guys, be patient, lets see a few cycles, and then we'll decide what to do. I hope you all understand i'm not stingy, or shy to dish out set files, it's just i have no info to base the parameters on yet and dont want to throw garbage out there.

Lets see a cycle or two of the EA on its own first, then we can look back at the data and of the myriad of ways we have at our disposal and then we can have a better view of which way to proceed. People posting some results, or some ideas are what we need right now. From that info, we can decide if we need to play with the code, or change a few settings. Thats all i can do right now. :)

Hi All, me again,
here is a HardCopy of the version that seems to be more stable so far.EDIT, VERY SLOW TO TRADE, CHECK EXTREME VERSION IN FOLLOWING POST I have included the notes on the mql web page in the EA for better understanding and because its a pain in the ass to keep looking at two forums. Its just easier when its in the EA. These params will definately change, remember this is just a start now so this EA is not written in stone yet and no MPTM until we see more trades and understand where the problems might be.

Okay, what i did change was the hedging amount. I had turned it down to 1.4 as opposed to the 2.0 factor as default. I'm now back on the 2.0 value.

Also, i have turned to'false' the control of all trades. I'd like to always be able to manually intervene by placing my own manual positions if i see a good opportunity and would'nt want the EA to assume the positions i take. That s just my pref though.

Okay, look in the demo list, right at the bottom, 2nd or 3rd from the bottom, thats this one, very calm version so far.

Hope this is usefull and please post you thoughts and observations .

Okay all,
heres the v2.1.8 EXTREME version.
this is the one that seems to be the better version. Sorry for the mix up, uploading the HardCoded EA together with results since the third. Will be up on demo soon, look for EXTREME with two seprate demos, one for each version, 4 in total. Two mild, and two extremes.

demo started on 3rd december.
