It will be interesting to see what comes of this. Gary and Jem seem to have it nailed IMHO. I'd be looking closely at the terms and conditions agreement. It looks like this arb was nothing more than the exploitation of a typo possibly a rounding error. Really no wonder that it looked too good to be true. It was simply leveraged up to a scale that made it profitable via a triangle hedge. When I read the agreement I see swap payments are made by adjusting the value of the underlying currencies. Section 11.2. Looks to me like this is where the error occurred. They also have a clause that allows them to adjust the account to reflect any errors made to the underlying currencies. (23.1c) Seems to me they are looking at huge losses from a position that should have been hedged perfectly and was not due to a clerical error. Only way I see to keep the profits is to prove that it was something else that occurred and the arb was legit. If it was legit it wouldn't be exploiting a single broker and would work on other platforms. My understanding is that it does not. I guess I am playing the devil's advocate. They are pricks if the criminal action lines are true. My guess is someone in management doesn't have an understanding of what is going on, and it simply looks like someone found a way to 'cheat'. If it were me I'd expect to get my accounts paid out instantly, in full. I'd be happy to lawyer up to make that happen. Whether the fight for the profits is worth it would be a question I'd ask him... but seems to me their legal team should have their butts well covered and he would advise me to drop it. Only the lawyers get paid. But might be worth fighting for a settlement. Interesting situation. Learned a lot. I'd love to hear where I'm out to lunch. Mike |

Yeah they are bastards, I deposited 1K got the mix all wrong and made $200 with the hedge not working out. I got out quick, took out my deposit recalculated and decided caution was required! made 5% the following day(of my 200) Was all set to let it rip on Thursday when they changed the swop! Saw NOKJPY was offering +60 long swop set up that ring and they changed that one right before swop was calculated. If anyone was abusive because they were to lazy to work out what to do then shame on them! Thank you very much to TLF for opening my eyes to a whole new way to trade. If you are willing to share more in any way them count me in! if not then thank you anyway. |

LOL..So its not a AMASING system TheLocusFund has or developed.. Eitherway look for Triangular Hedge trading system and you will find the software.Easy.. Bully Pepperstone swaps should have been 0.3 not 30..They stuffed up and didnt pick it up until somebody rang them about it..then that night it was gone!!.. My sources say though there was mostly demos on the trio swap play. I think they will just delete the trades but still crappy they stuff up and we ware the problem..Same story different broker. So my advise is if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is and if you have to sign up through a referral link then is the IB Commission more important than the trading system. Bully Pepperstone are like 95% of brokers..you win they hate it. Not sure why but thats how it is. My friend owns and developed a very profitable EA and he does managed funds through Bully Pepperstone and has never had any issues with them. Just recently he changed to FinFX because the new Razor feed isnt what it should be. But the biggest thing is why would you tell the world something that works very well for you with a broker as you should know it will get killed shortly after. It has always been this way. Maybee the IB commish is more profitable..who knows. |

Unbelievable, goes to show market makers don't want you to make money, as it comes out their pocket. |

Well, Canadian regulations now limit leverage to between 1:20 to 1:30 ! Checked with the local FXCM partner (Friedberg.) This is worse than the US NFA's 1:50. As usual, in copycatting the US, Canadian authorities went far beyond. I am from Canada and I can tell you that there is not much enforcement here either. Ten provinces each with their own regulatory authority, making a joke out of that so-called 'passport' agreement that theoretically allows companies adhering to one province rules do business in another, because the largest province (Ontario, with 40% or more market) isn't a signatory. Those Conrad Blacks, Bre-Xs, SinoForests, Nortels (and now RIM) never got prosecuted in Canada-all got caught south of the border like Black who spent 2 years in jail in the US, and guess what- the Canadian government now would love to give him his passport back which he renounced to claim his British knighthood ! Don't believe the hype. Do you own due diligence, all the time. And yes if there are good international brokers accepting Canadians, offering hedging, OCO, no limit SL/TS, no-FIFO, 1:100-200 leverage, fast execution, no games and credit/debit deposits/ withdrawals, let me know. Until recently I thought Bully Pepperstone was a good bet, or IC Markets, both with NYC locations which would work well with a VPS like CNS. Now I am not so sure. Athar. Toronto.
