March 16th, 2013 Update: Changed EA name to "MPTM_Global" from the old name "Multi purpose trade managerADMod_D1." I only changed the name so the code is exactly the same as before. Since essential truth spoken concisely is true eloquence I prefer the shorter name to the old one.

Hi Global,
I'm studying your mods to MPTM for my trading method. The problem I'm trying to solve right now is "letting profits run" ... and might I add to that ... "without babysitting" LOL

I especially like the ATR features of your mod, I think that makes a lot of sense. I am trying to create a method that is completely dynamic with no hard-coded pip amounts, for example.

I'm trying to determine something that I hope you could help me with: ideally it would be great to be able to run MPTM on 1 chart and let it manage all pairs. However, I am trading 26 pairs simultaneously and they all have different setups, obviously (different stop distance in pips, different target pips, different ATRs, etc.)

The specific feature mode of your mod that I'd like to use is:
Tightening stop % ATR feature (Mode: TS %ATR)

Based on how you are able to print information on the chart that I drop MPTM onto (ie specific pip amounts, etc.) ... I'm unsure if it is acting dynamically/separately for each of the 26 charts.

So I would just like to know if your ATR mods can act independently on each chart with MPTM running in a single instance, or if you recommend that I run MPTM on 26 additional charts with the setting "ManageThisPairOnly"

Thank you very much for your input on this.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I only just saw your post. The ATR settings can act independently on each chart ONLY IF you attach MPTM_Global to each chart with "ManageThisPairOnly" set to true.

I modified the original MPTM specifically to allow profits to run by using the %ATR settings. However, now I need to let my profits run when using the %TP features as well since I'm now setting my BreakEven, Trailing and Tightening stops based on percentages of my Take Profit (TP). Currently, MPTM_Global will not let my profits run once a TP is set since the trade will close when the TP is hit.

Therefore, soon I will be adding another feature that will allow you to set a Virtual TP as a %ATR. Here is the description of the Virtual TP setting as it will appear near the top of the EA input dialog window.

----Virtual Takeprofit (VTP) settings----

Sets a virtual TP as a % of the ATR to be used as the TP
in all settings below. Use this with break even and/or
trailing/jumping stop & tighenting stop settings to trail
profits until stopped out. Unlike a hidden TP, when the VTP
is hit the trade will not be closed. VTP will only work if
no TP is set. VTP replaces the TP used in all settings
below that calculate values as a % of the TP.

As soon as I'm finished fully testing the Virtual TP feature I will upload the new version.

Hi Global,
I want ask you I face a problem with EA ,The problem is if I have two order for same pair EA will handle first order and forget the other one.
Ex.
If I have EURUSD order tickets number:
2555
2599
EA will manage only ticket No. 2555
I tried many versions of MPTM and yours but still face same issue.

Hi,

Do you mind posting the EA opening the multiple trades?

Hi fahedksa,

As far as I understand, ManageByTicketNumber only manages one ticket number per EA instance, therefore, to manage multiple trades for the same pair using the ManageByTicketNumber set to true, you would have to open a separate chart for each trade.

According to the manual:
ManageThisPairOnly: tells the ea to manage all trades for the chart into which it is installed. You can also use it with one of the previous three to achieve accurate monitoring of an associated group of trades. Do not try to use it with more than one, or the ea will not function.
Therefore, with ManageThisPairOnly set to true, MPTM should be able to manage multiple trades on the same chart. I did not try that myself so please let us know if it works out for you.

Also, although the manual says that you can use ManageThisPairOnly together with the three previous settings including the ManageByTickeNumber setting, that did not work out for me as expected, therefore, I exclusively use ManageThisPairOnly and attached the EA with that setting to each chart.

Hope that helps.

Hi Global and all fellow traders,

The tool made by Steeve is great itself, but the things made by Global do the tool more useful. Thank you for your work Global.

I have some to ask you, fellows.

1/ Do the tool work properly with /jpy crosses, most interesting eur/jpy? does anybody use it?

2/ Have anybody been using the tool with the hedge option? I have been trying use it with eur/jpy and have failed. I do not understand how it works. Some errors are appeared.

Any help appreciated

Post subject:  Re: MPTM_Global

One more question arises.

Please explain this:

extern string sep5 = "---------------------------------------------------------------------";
extern string pcbe = "PartClose settings can be used in";
extern string pcbe1 = "conjunction with Breakeven/JumpingStop settings";
extern bool PartCloseEnabled = false;
extern double Close_LotsFract = 0.5;
double Close_Lots, Preserve_Lots;

This is a cut from the code of the Global's tool.

Can anybody explain how it works in conjunction with Breakeven settings?

I need closing a half of a position at 25% or 50% ATR alternatively.

The tool has many parameters included. Does anybody know where in the Net can I find a clear description of them and their affect?

Hi Dr. Phoenix,

Yes, MPTM_Global works with all jpy pairs. However, I never used any of MPTM's hedge options or PartClose options so I don't know how my modifications would impact those options. I will have a look at the code over the weekend and Monday I'll test it when the market opens.
