Houaa Fellowtraders! For past three days I ran Aussiedocs 6 duck on my 200€ Demo Account @Cowboy IBFX AU 15m EU,GU,AU,GJ and the result is -0.30 after about 20 trades made, which is for me fantastic start. I ran it OOTB I only turned off Trading balance filters as I ran 4 pairs only. I know it is too early but maybe here comes in place same martingale concept as in spider.. |

Sorry.. I know it is short period to have an idea if Aussiedoc EA will be profitable or not. I just wanted to add option as Steve Always does in his EAs. I thought this is what this forum is about.. So sorry for that and my appologies to Aussiedoc.. |

Well from my point of view I do not think that Robot can produce same amount of pips as a human. From my experience theres something between candles that has an influence on a trader decisions at the end. I am silent follower of Steve Hopwood for 5 years and I saw and test a lot of sucessful systems translated into a code which were loosers as a robot at the end.. But of course youre right. Let the system be pure and let it run for a month or two and we will see.. Thank You Doc for sharing with us the system.. |

Leaving aside trader intuition and experience (and that is a bit like leaving aside the approaching lava flow) here is another dreadful possibility. Market conditions change all the time. It takes time for a trader to develop and test a system and find it successful. By the time said trader has made profits and feels it is safe to release the system to others via a forum such as this one or FF, market conditions are already starting to change. By the time someone like me codes an EA to trade it, the market has moved against the strategy and the EA fails. Take the dreaded 'news' as an example. 12 months ago, and all the time I have been involved with Forex up until a few months ago, 'the news' was a dreaded affair. News inspired spikes caused chaos. Traders would cease trading for hours leading up to a 'major news release'. Nowadays, news releases raise barely a blip on the charts. Even the once awe-inspiring NFP raises hardly a gnat's fart in market blip terms. Once upon a time, the adrenalin rush of maintaining a brace of pending trades on either side of a major news release and overcoming the gazillion pips spread when a trade triggered would bring with it a decent number of pips profit. Nowadays, anybody going in for this behaviour needs certifying. Both pending trades are going to be filled and likely hit their stops at considerable loss. In 6 months time? Who knows. Might be back to business as usual, might not. Maybe now is business as usual. What I can say is this; if a trading system has the ability to stand the test of time, then so does the EA that trades it; if not, then the EA stands no chance. No idea which of these the Doc's system is. I am naturally suspicious because a number of thingies have to line up before a trade is sent. To me, there are 4 thingies too many, but what do I know? At least most of Doc's thingies are not pretty-coloured thingies. Pretty-coloured thingies are invariably custom indi's that are of themselves merely a pointless agglomeration of existing indis within the same custom indi. All they really achieve is slowing the machine to a crawl. Go past two pretty-coloured thingies needing to line up and I lose interest instantly. Not entirely sure what point I am making here - rather thinking aloud I feel. Make of it what you may and ignore me if you feel I am being an idiot. |

DixPat, g'day! Thanks for this suggestion. I appreciate your input.. Following your advice; I saved the original data as 21Janootb.set; ran it through the Strategy Tester (TP20 SL20) & saved that chart. I then altered the TP (25); saved it (21Janootb_tp25.set); ran it through the Tester & saved that chart. When I compared both; the value string across the top of the chart screen is exactly the same as the one I posted yesterday - as are the results & graph. Unfortunately I still am no further ahead. "Back to the drawing-board!" Cheers |

AHHHH! Yr wyf yn deall! Thanks! Steve, it seems you have my family on-side in this adventure. I include my eldest daughter Rhiannon 's (the blunt one) admonishment for your enjoyment. "See, Daddy! I told you so! You really are an impatient old b****, aren't you? You always push everyone else's envelope! Now you know what it's like to be on the receiving end. If you aren't careful, Steve, will tell you get lost (or words to that effect) I ask you; where has respect for one's parents gone? As ever, thanks for your input! Thanks to everyone else for your contributions my understanding. Cheers, mark (aka Doc) |

Mate, 100%! The human mind is one of God's wonders. The current estimate is 10x16th power of computations per second - 24/7/365. The intuitive factor that is born out of experience cannot be replicated - and $billions have, and are, being spent in the attempt. I know that Ducks cannot and will not replace me. I also know that my/David's system works! From day 1; my goal for Ducks has been very clear and definite. To enable me to create a financial base that will allow me to step back from my other commitments - so I can concentrate totally on trading my system live! One of the realities of life is that we all have a 'Peer Group'. People of comparable skills and values. Research has shown that Steve's programming skill is right up at the top of the list. His peer group on this forum prove that. That's the reason I am here. I consider myself extraordinarily fortunate that he, you and everyone else, has consented to assist with bringing Ducks on-line. Thanks for your support! Cheers.. |
