I have looked into Ninja trader and Multicharts - and the ability to attach these to the liquidity source I use. These two are just too plain expensive!! They want ridiculous fees for what they do. I have looked a cTrader and will continue to investigate - however I cant find the coders for the EAs and Indis like you can for Empty4. If anyone has a source I would love to check them out. anyone every looked at this?? http://www.m4platform.com/trader.aspx its new to me!! Seems like a very cool system. I would love a move from Empty4 - just want and need it to be as seamless as possible |

The solution to the problem is simply competition. As soon as Metaquotes has a competing platform then it loses customers. That is the bottom line and it is what always happens. It may take a year but someone with big bucks will see the opportunity and put something together. For me I am trying to learn the one click on the I B F X platform and integrating it into my trading system. I am also trying to come up with an adjustment to 10.4 that will allow me to still trade it with just indies inside the Empty4 platform. CSS will be the biggest problem but everything else I think I can duplicate. Anyway, a competitor will come along and then we can choose where to put our money. Obviously the local house broker will hear this message and see what it can do. Once one broker breaks from the pack and has its own platform that can be used with independent software then changes can happen. If others see traders flocking to that broker MetaQuotes stranglehold on the market will be broken. I already hate that whenever I make a post it automatically sends me to their website. You can turn that feature off now but it they update and make it mandatory, oh boy, I may pay the extra money to use I B F X alternative platform. I have a friend who loves TradeStation but it costs to use it. So who is a mutli-millionaire who sees a business opportuntiy?? |

More cAlgo problems - backtesting is slow, and there's no optimization at all. If you don't use them its obviously not an issue, but to be honest I'd have expected better :\ http://www.icmarkets.com has cTrader/cAlgo demos if anyone wants to check it out. Got to hope a good alternative that provides for sophisticated EA development with accurate & fast backtesting (with optimization) presents itself soon. I really do not want to have to rely on Empty4 any longer... ProRealTime (https://www.prorealtime.com/en/popup-wi ... plete_10_1) is introducing automated trading in its new version, but the programming language behind it is a bit limited & similar to cAlgo - limited backtest data + no optimization. Its GUI is awesome though, for what that's worth. Apparently you can trade directly through this software now (https://www.prorealtime.com/en/activatetrading), which is new to this version. |

Chipping in with my 2 cents.... I've been demo'ing ctrader for a couple of months now. The drawback.. besides the ones people already pointed out is that a transition from Empty4 to ctrader is smooth for those who trade based on price action and the regular indicators. For the ones using fancy customized indicators, its going to be a challenge.. most importantly, you'll have to pay to get a C# coded version of your mql4 indicator. But I guess it will only be a matter of time before more devs jump in and the existing ones start offering indi's in calgo. Also, what keeps me pulling back to Empty4 is the choice of instruments.. CFD's such as Oil and CFD on indices aren't yet available on ctrader. ctdn - the dev. community of ctrader is definitely growing and the devs at ctrader are infact quite responsive, but there's still a lot of work left to be done. The way I see it.. either the traders can pressure their brokers which will inturn make the crapperquotes people sit up and listen or we can push for the ctrader guys to speed up on development (ex: pitchfork is available on the web version, and this was added only this year). There are tons of other platforms, but either they are too expensive (multicharts) or the general broker (for the masses) doesn't support the platform (ninjatrader). On another note.. isn't it evident that crapperquotes are getting too greedy? The signals section they introduced is certainly aimed at signal providers with copy trader functionality.. and by breaking the auto update feature, i won't be surprised if they come up with their own full fledged 'analytics version' (which is somewhat there if you add your account as a signal provider). |

They actually have over 150 indicators on the website (http://ctdn.com/algos/indicators) in addition to those provided in cTrader, and more are being added all the time. I created a simple one just to see how its done, and its really quite easy & involves less coding than Empty4. I don't see this being a problem if the platform becomes popular. Yes and that's the whole problem here. There's no reason why they shouldn't want to run their own signals service, or for that matter an analytics site if that's what they've planned, however there are good & bad ways of going about it. The good way would have been to provide a proper API to 3rd party signal/analytics sites (so they didn't have to use what Empty4 described as "illegal hacks"), given then a decent time period in which to make the transition and charged a reasonable licence fee. Then MQ could have created their competing version and people would have a choice of which they'd use, but either way MQ would be making money, no service providers, traders or brokers would be adversely affected and this thread wouldn't exist. Instead they chose the path of pure evil - cut off the 3rd party service providers without warning. To hell with them, to hell with traders using their sites, to hell with brokers who are overwhelmed with complaints, to hell with traders using busy VPSs or EAs/Indicators using DLLs that build 500 disables (http://www.forex-tsd.com/Empty4-4/2 ... post609037). They simply don't care, its their way or the highway and who knows what stunts they'll pull in the future. |

Guys, I don't know if you noticed that the auto update is there, in the program folder with a hidden attribute, just unhide your folder view and delete it to prevent Empty4-5 from auto update. Best, B.R. |

Can you post the specific path? |

It'd be nice to be able to stop auto-updating, but I'd question how useful that is given that MQ can and will force an update by making the server refuse to allow old clients to connect. |

Go to ur folder view and untick hide system files, go to ur Empty4 folder and there u can find the auto update program visible in a hidden format but visible, just delete it. Best, B.R. |
