I don't want to derail Steve's EA thread, but there have been several good posts here that I want to follow up on. I'll move this to a new thread if there's anything to move.

I've been interested in, and peripherally following, Brijon's approach and the T101 methodology for months. It appears there is something very worth understanding here, but sadly I haven't had any luck with it. Brijon has generously donated tons of his time and effort to explain his process, but I just don't seem to be wired to understand what he's saying. I'm a fairly bright fellow but when I try to follow his explanations my brain just says "uh-uh, ain't gonna go there." So I need a different source.

MurphyMan, thanks for your pointer to Mob's posts. Those were very interesting.
Blahn, your post was also very useful, especially for those of us in the US.

From talking to a few other people I know I'm not the only one who'd like to understand Brijon's approach better, and who has no luck following his explanations. If you know of a good explanation somewhere, I'd appreciate a pointer. If not, could we start a "Brijon for dummies" thread to start at square one and explain the process? E.g. the purpose of the "currency indicator," the meaning of anchors &etc, exactly what you're looking at and how you make your trading decisions, how you detect trend changes and what you do with them, step-by-step explanation of the trading process, etc.

Hi Gary,

I have read hundreds of posts by Brijon here and on FF. I understand your frustration. I feel it as well.

I believe that an EA is an attempt model the know how an "expert". If the model is correct we should be able to compare the EA's results with expert's and get similar results. In my experience, the biggest problem interviewing experts is that their skills are usually unconscious. Most people can not explain how they walk, talk or write for instance. What makes you a successful parent or golfer? The expert's own theories may or may not explain their success. In my experience, these theories can include irrelevant habits and superstitions such as sportsmen and their lucky socks.

In the fields of Physiology and AI, there are many models to create a model of an expert (aka the meta-model). These different meta-models tend to match different styles of thinking. A successful model (EA) involves transferring what an expert thinks they know and what they unconsciously know. It involves being able to produce the outcome and transferring these behaviors to others (people or EAs).

In the end, I suspect that only way that we will know for certain that we are correctly modeling Brijon would be for a small team to move into Brijon's home and carefully observe him. Any volunteers??

The EA I post here is not as you describe. What the EA I post here is intended to do I have described in post 1.

Anybody here interested in the actual EA I have presented here perchance, or shall I develop it quietly on my own?

Steve, I am sorry but your latest version opened 7 positions at once, though I only selected trade strongest / weakest pair as true.


Question - as I actually forgot to ask this in my original doc to you - would it be possible to add an additional check on currency strength based on Hannover - eg if strongest pair is AU, check whether either AUD is above 7 or USD below 3?

Hi,

I loaded this EA on a new Alpari UK account today. However first thing it did was to open a trade in the first second for the pair I dropped the EA.
I thought it should wait for a trend first.

I'll wait and see how it goes.
