Milanese: That worked. 6pips, not thirteen. When first observed the yellow line dutiful flipped down and the Sell EA was added. On next observation the line had flipped up, and the Buy EA was allowed to rule for 12 hours.

When the Auto featured is available, that would be nice if the yellow line would pick the EA and hold the trade per the rules.

Game continues... whereabouts unknown.

Hello all!

Thanx for the magnificent helper... Just wondering if u could make it an option to chose between the 10/30 line or the 70/90 line to execute trade.

TQ

Steve, I've just taken the opportunity to try these helpers tonight...thank you once again for your great work :clap:

I have 1 observation and 1 request if you don't mind! Apologies in advance for the long post :uff:

Firstly the observation...and sorry if I have missed something in post 1, however you state:
The input UseDailyStochForExit tells the helper to close the trade if the yellow line flips and then remains flipped for MinutesToConfirmYellowFlip minutes. Tommaso and I added the code for this feature because we noticed that the yellow line can flip at one tick and so cause trade closure, only for it to flip back again on the next tick and for the market to continue on its merry way and leave us grinding our teeth in frustration. I am not sure we have this quite right just yet, so keep an eye on what is going on.

Once a helper detects that the trade it was managing has closed, it will unload itself from the chart.
I left the inputs at default UseDailyStochForExit (5 mins) and attached the EA's to my chosen charts. 4 trades have since been correctly taken however the EA proceeded to remove itself immediately.
Not sure if I have missed something, or is this possibly a bug?

Now my request...

I've done pretty well with 10.6 since the start of the year, increasing my live account by 62% since 1st January, so I wanted to take a good look and get a good understanding of 10.7 on demo first before taking it live.

I set up a demo 3 weeks ago and just spent the first week watching the new template and how price reacted to the TMA_CG which is an indicator I'm not really familiar with. Then for the last 2 weeks I have been loosely trading 10.7 mainly just trying to get a handle on how the new set up works and how I would merge it with how I was trading 10.6.

I decided to pull 10.7 apart and start with 1 component of the system at a time. First just the TMA_CG, then the W 2.1 & D 2.1 and after watching price bounce between the upper and lower TMA bands my first 2 weeks trading I have been pretty much ignored the Sto 7 and traded the bounce up or down from the outer TMA lines in the direction of the D2.1 and W 2.1. I have been using either the opposite TMA line for TP if the trade is in the direction of the W 2.1 or if it's a CT I have been using the 60LWMA for TP. Just doing this I have so far managed to increase my Demo account by 53% trading this method. Wonderful I know, but it is a little hit & miss and there has been some drawdown.

Hence I am now ready to incorporate Sto 7 back into my trading...enter your helper EA's to take trades using the Sto 7 cross of the 10/30 & 90/70 levels either in the direction of the trend W 2.1 or CT them in the direction of D 2.1. Given my success with using the outer TMA lines for my TP, I was hoping to continue using this method for TP, therefore is it possible to incorporate this into the Trade Management module of the helper EA's in addition to the option to use the flip of the Sto to exit?
The option to use either the inner or outer TMA line would also be great and even possibly close half lots at inner TMA and TP at outer TMA. :smile:

I hope this makes some sense :shock:

Cheers
Shelley

Shelley's post about the bug highlighted something I have been meaning to look in to. There is a flaw in the logic that would cause a helper to remove itself as soon as it sends the trade. Fixed versions in post 1.

Those of you able to, make the change for yourselves. Find this line:
if (OldOpenTrades != OpenTrades)

replace it with:

if (OldOpenTrades != OpenTrades && OpenTrades == 0)

then recompile. Ignore the 'warnings'. Remember to do this will all 4 ea's.

Shelley, I will be in touch via pm.

fxozgirl reiterates one problem we all face: where/when is the moment to trade: enter the flipper. What we have is an old classic stochastic but what we need is one that tells the tale: an empty circle and a dotted circle per TimeFrame - empty circle is null and dotted circle is bell = look now.

Cheers,

Hi Steve, I like to try using the helper EAs to trade just with TMA, not the Stoch daily / weekly yellow and red lines. Could you kindly tell me what is needed to be changed in the codes to disable the yellow and red lines conditions. I hope it is not too difficult, forget it if it is too complicated.

Thank you !

Go to the snippet of code that start with the comment

Code: Select all

//Specific system filters
Remove the filters and replace them with yours. Add code to ReadIndicatorValues() to read the indi. Sing out if you have any problems - it is never easy reading someone else's code.

Thanks Steve, I just commented out the two conditions. Will test them out next week.

For my purpose, there is no need to insert new conditions as I only put these EAs to the daily chart when I see the TMA condition is right. I purely use them to trigger the trade when the 7.2.2 Stoch cross the thresholds,

Hi Steve, I believe these EAs are designed to stop entering new trade after a trade is entered at Stoch 10. Is there a simple way to change the code such that it will also enter another trade at Stoch 30 after the first trade at Stoch 10 has entered?

Hope there is an easy way to do this ?
