Once a week basket trading EA

Here is a curious thingy.

I have OAW set to take and close the basket today. On another demo, it took the basket today and will close it on Friday.

Both ea's are set to start trading at the same time.

The demo taking and closing the basket today: first trade taken at 24 seconds past HourToOpenTrades; last trade taken 27 seconds later. The basket never made it into profit. Highest upl was -$1.66 and closure was at -$22.58.

The demo taking the the trades at the same time tody, but closing them on Friday: first trade taken at 24 seconds past HourToOpenTrades; last trade taken 26 seconds later. That is one second difference folks. Yet, I never saw this basket in a losing dd and its highest positive upl was +$38.35. Currently +$28.78, or c. 280 pips.

That is a difference in results between two baskets being taken out at pretty much the same time, or c.600 pips.

Eh????????????

And before anyone asks they are both ootb. I am the coder, so anything I demo is ootb. It is my box that it is out of.

Like Steve's mine started at the same time, both opened 23 trades.

The demo using Close Basket at 300 pips closed pretty much within 24 hours. I couldn't fig out why it had so many profits compared to the other one, until I checked the account history and saw every single trade was a BUY, when the other demo had a mix of sells and buys???

Oh, for crying out loud guys. Am I really on my own here in this bloody forum.

My wife was taken ill early in February and was rushed to hospital. She has nearly died three times in the period since then and now. My life is utter crap, ok? There are days regularly when all I want to do is fucking well die, and the only thing that stops me from topping myself is the thought of what would happen to my wife were she to be left without me.

The drive to hospital is 45 minutes, so add this doubled to any period of time I have left to spend with her. Imagine how long this leaves me for coding every day.

Every time I post some bloody poxy ea in this bloody forum, some fucking aspect of fucking Empty4 shit defeats me.

There was a time once here when coders would try to help with an apparently intractable problem. These days, you guys appear to leave it to me and Tommaso.

Guess what guys, there are only two of us and there are a shit load of you out there. Couldn't weigh in to help from time to time, could you?

Any dimwits out there be very, very careful what you post in future.

Steve...this is a really difficult time for you and my heart breaks knowing just how awful your current situation is at this time and your worry about your wife.

To all members, this forum is Steve's creation, and he has provided and shared so much with us all, and asked so very little in return, so I now ask everyone and in particular our very talented coders if you can step up at this difficult time for Steve and take some of the load off him whilst he is needing to concentrate so much of his time trying to enable an even slightly positive outcome for his wife.

It is now time when all of us who have benefited so much from this forum give just a tiny little bit back!

Results for this week are on my FXBoook links, but I am not sure using the trailing stops like I did was a good thing, I did lock in 600 + pips along the way, but when the EA closed trading the d/d grabbed all those pips back + some from last weeks profits.

The Close Basket demo I tried, made 300 pips nicely for the week, but as I posted earlier, since it traded all buys, I think that was a fluke, let's see how next week's goes.

That strange all buy episode eventually cost a lot of pips when the basket closed at 16.00 today. At one point, it was about +700 and there is no way in the world that I would have left those live pips on the table.

My trade once a day at 8.00 London time and close at 16.00 ended about +400 pips for the week - and I forgot to set it up for trading on Thursday. So, it averaged 100 pips a day - but would Thursday trading have killed the profits? Don't know and cannot be bothered to work it out.

Moving on, I will try to demo a basket opening at 8.00 and closing at 16.00 every day and see if it is profitable again. If so, I will come up with a version that has individual day trading choices. We shall see.
