I played with your template on a small live acc last week and i must say; HGI with Hurst is simply amazing, it completely takes out all other doubts.

With your permission, i shall be posting live setups this week for constructive purpose.

Pips be with us!

By all means post some setups. The thread is not actually mine personally, but belongs to the forum group. I am sure if you post something not appropriate then the moderators will tell you and perhaps delete it FM

Many thanks for the simplified pointer to Hurst. I had heard of him but never looked too much into his views of the cyclic nature of virtually all traded products. What I find particularly interesting is what you were saying about estimating the potential profitability of a trade once you are in it. I see considerable potential here to create some code that gives you a TP2 or TP3 to aim a residual part of the trade at.

Looking at several charts, it seems to work much of the time. Am I understanding this part of the logic correctly before I start coding?:
  • After a few candles into a Buy trade the indicators should have settled and if the trade took place "correctly" (i.e. entered when gold over white for a Buy, etc.), then you can wait for the next low fractal and then later indicator cross. Measure from the cross to the low of the low fractal and then it's reasonable to expect Price/Action to hit (about) double that measured number of pips at some point shortly thereafter.
I see this as a potentially very useful add-on for quite a few EAs.

All the best

Jeff what you said as I understand it, is correct. And yes I agree it has the potential to be a useful add-on to EA's. From what I have found in the past in the bottom half of a buy. Lowest Low to crossed lines. The top part or half of the run is nearly always within one or two pips of the bottom part. It seems the only times when they are not the same is because of news items. That has been my experience anyway.

I have to admit that seeing the Hurst TMA's cross. Then measuring from the Lowest Low to the cross and noting the pips. For example 75 pips Then watching the run finish and then checking from the cross to the Highest High also being 75 pips or very close to it. Still amazes me. Even in seemingly manipulated markets that use high speed trading. Now if you are into coding Jeff. Remember the Hurst TMA's normally only post on the chart at open only. A very good reason for this is the open of a bar never varies where other parts of the bar can vary extensively. Just thought I would mention that.

Now for me personally I normally trade a specified lot and then get out of half my position a little after the TMA's cross and also make sure the last part is set to at least break even. For the rest of the trade I get out when the 5 TMA alters direction or may be for some other reason. Thanks for you input Jeff. Appreciated as with traders ideas and input my knowledge is increasing too.

Is anyone else having problems opening up the HGI Hurst file once its downloaded onto their PCs? The zip file wont open (although other zip files on my desk top don't have this problem).

Any ideas?

Because it is a .rar file you need a program that will open those. I use 7-zip which is free

Hurst gives me the length of the run before it is finished and Bob's system give me a good idea of its strength on breakout which Hurst does not. I forgot Hurst gives me the buy and sell arrows to ignore on the HGI chart also. So knowing the length of the run and any arrows to ignore is the icing on the cake in my opinion.
Pedro,

Can you give an illustration that shows the length of run?

Thanks,

HGI FIRST TRADE 15 MIN.png
Well, here we go. . .

I was anxious to see the hurst in action, so I put it on a few 15 min charts. Seems very very promising. Even now so soon after opening when the price action is a rat's nest.

Have bagged 32 pips already with no significant drawdown and not losses. Seems the Hurst fits well with HGI even on the 15 minute chart. Even scored 12 pips on a GJ 5 min chart I had open by accident.

The AU trade was classic by Pedro rules. Trade closed at the opposite squiggles.
The GJ trade (no pic) was a range signal on the five minute that popped for a quick 12p scalp.
The UJ trade I treated as if it was a range trade rather than a trend trade. There was not very much separation between the 5-11 TMA. Market showing little direction.

Hoping this will be a pleasure to trade on the hourly and above.

Looking encouraging, but just a few trades aren't proof of the TMA's value. Time will tell.

Thanks all for this gift. :xm: They say teach a man to fish . . . I feel like you have given us the rod and tackle box too. :good:

Thanks Pedro. I shall add it to my To Code pile and see if anything interesting pops out the other end.

So this is my contribution to Bob, Steve, Jemook and all others who make this forum so great. Hope with this idea you can clean the central banks vaults out with mega pips!
Pedro2 this looks an extremely handy addition. I've put it on some daily charts which I'm going to trade with HGI and it does give a very accurate indication for the length of the move.
Thanks for sharing.. and thanks heaps to Bob and all involved with this HGI. :good: :)

Just adding an example.
