Hi Spidey,

First of all thanks for great EA.What I did and found usefull is add timeframe2 for HurstMA's. So I trade HGI signals on M30 but EA calculate HurstMA's from H4.That way we can enter more trades. Also I got stopped very soon since signals especially on lower tf are appearing very often so changed that to be stopped only by buffer 7 - Wave-StrongDn/Up. What I am wondering is if you could code some lookback option of few signals together, that will also resolve issue you are having appearing and disappearing signals. Buffer 6 + Buffer 7 in XX candles look great.Also buffer 6 + buffer 0/1. Some suggestion from me.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Would like to point out that the HGI chart would not look so nice in reality unless you just loaded it.
If you let it run on the chart , it would look like the following:

so any visual backtest based on a recently loaded chart is not accurate.

Therefore to validate if the strategy you propose is useful, you would need to do the following:
1. Run HGI on the chart 24/7 and do not swap timeframes or pairs to see the past signals like Al's post
2. Run a tick-mode backtest using any random EA in Empty4 in visual mode, then throw the HGI on the chart.
Then you can pretty much see almost the same thing as what you see real time.
You can note the time which the signals are triggered at each point in time and see if it trades out as you think it would.

Suggestion 2 is debatable and some may disagree with it, but it seems to be the next best alternative to waiting.

Please try this out and let me know how the above works for your proposed strategy.

Hi,

Will do and get back to you with results and maybe new suggestions based on observation I noticed.I am aware about HGI problems, version 15.06 cuts those signals a little bit but still too many so that is reason why I am using only buffer 7 as a stop and Hurst comes into play so trades are reduced.Let us try to find some solution and get this baby going.Thanks for considering my idea.

Hi all !

I am testing too with TMA centered 40 and 88 on M30 (to have the display of TMA from H4). That's look nice, so I tested on EA backtest to see what happen.
I noticed that the EA close the trade at -10 as you can see on the screenshot enclosed, I don't know why because I set SL at 50 and TP 50
Moreover, the SL was modified to the same value than TP

Someone has any ideas why or it's my fault ?

Hi, sim.

I do not see that SL was modified at the same value as TP, and my guess why were you stopped is that you get opposite HGI signal after TMA crossed or wave range signal before that.

Added more options for TradeExits

Code: Select all

extern bool    ExitOnRAD            = true;
extern bool    ExitOnTrendWeakness  = true;
extern bool    ExitOnTrendStart     = true;
ExitOnHurst - Exit trade when there is a HGI signal, while the Hurst bands indicate a buy condition (for sell trade), sell condition for buy trade
ExitOnTrend- Exit trade on an opposite Trend Signal, i.e Trend Sell for Buy Trade
ExitOnRAD - Exit trade on an opposite RAD Signal, i.e RAD Sell for Buy Trade
ExitOnTrendWeakness - Exit trade on a wave signal, which shows ranging has begun
ExitOnTrendStart - Exit trade on a wave signal, which shows that range has end, and new trend has potentially start.


Please experiment and see which exit method works best.
Usually ExitOnHurst will trigger much earlier than the rest, so if you find trades exiting too fast, you may use the other options.

Hi Sim,

Neno is correct. The sl is different from the tp.
Most likely exit was due to a signal after the Hurst bands indicate a buy condition (see post 1)
Please check the experts tab to see what is going on, the EA will output the reason for exit.

Thanks Neno and Spider for your clarification and for the updated version. We can choose the exit now :hi: I worked on M30 with TMAs H4, it would be more accurate with these options. How are your results for you ?
I have a question: Why it didn't take the trade when FastTMA>LowTMA ? and only after as you can see on the pic ?
