I signed up for the 6 month Basic plan, which runs me 12 bucks a month. I'm pretty satisfied with it.

BTW - It has been a pain in the butt to load EAs and such into my VPS since the platform has a fair amount of latency. If anyone is interested, this is the way I do it running Windows 10. Cheap-Forex has me use the Windows Desktop Connection but I don't know if other VPS providers use the same tool to connect.

First, download the EAs, Indy's, etc. onto your PC as usual. Create a Temp folder in your machines C:/ directory. There may already be one. Place the files you want to transfer into C:/Temp. My system doesn't like placing files directly into C:/ so that's why I use the Temp folder.

Open Windows Remote Desktop Connection, but don't log in yet. Click on Show Options>Local Resources>More.

Check the drives you want to be able to access when your VPS is open. For me it's the C:/ and F:/ drives.

Okay out and log in to the VPS.

Using My Computer on your VPS you can now see the Windows drives on your own PC.

Click through to C:/>Temp and you will see your downloaded files and there you go!

It's made it a lot easier for me.

Just as a follow on from the post above, I use a sync program (like Dropbox) on my local PC and on the VPS to transfer files. So no need to copy files, as I just place them in my local folder and they show up in a folder on my VPS

You are choosing between something brokered by GP and, erm, someone else? In public?

My mods here are required to display some sanity. Please do so, or at least stay quiet if you insist on insanity and so retain your Mod status. I assume you do prefer to retain your Mod status? Do say, if not.

Not so insane Steve, they are both proposed in bundle by GP

FWIW, I have no experience of ForexVPS.

I do have BeeksVPS.

BeeksVPS is great so long as I run with my crapforms minimised (I found this - at least I think I did and will happily amend this post if not - the memory plays tricks as I get older). Then ALoveSvpreme suggested minimising the the charts within the crapform. These suggestions have made a colossal difference to my BeeksVPS. Frankly, I was bitterly disappointed with it until these discoveries, so apply them to your own VPS before concluding it is rubbish and ditching it.

So, maybe try the above tricks on any VPS before purchasing a subscription?

If you don't mind using linux on the console:
If you want a cheap solution you could get a Linux vps at http://www.ovh.de
I got the smallest package with 1 vCore 2,4 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 10 GB SSD for 3.49EUR a month.
I choosed archlinux, just installed sudo, x, wine, winetricks, Empty4, vncviewer and wingdings font, no need for a desktop environment for such a specific purpose. Connect vncviewer via ssh (local) as user. Runs pretty fast, didn't experience any lags. You basically use all ressources for Empty4/wine. The OS's sole purpose is to serve Empty4/wine. No need for a bloated 30GB windows hungry for ram and cpu power. In my eyes also a relatively safe option since such a compact Linux install is harder to attack. Also vncviewer via ssh (tunneling) means you'll get an encrypted connection.
