Hehe. You should see it now.

10 years ago I was a naive noob having bought a ridiculously expensive license for an EA with similarly lethal possibilities.

That is why I can be a tad on the harsh side from time to time. I know the harm these things can do.

:xm:
...................................................................................................

Since writing the above, this has happened:

GJ has continued to plummet, and one of the pending sells has filled. Those 18 buys look really silly right now.

So what happens next?

Suppose the market continues to plummet. Lots of sell stops get filled. The situation gets more and more confused.

Suppose the market bottoms and the sells get closed? Imagine the DD on those buys, if you are feeling strong?

Suppose the market fills a few more sell stops then reverses - or even reverses without filling a few more sell stops?

Worst case scenario, the market continues to rise until a new high closes the outstanding buys at a stonking loss. Phew. Account not blown.

Best case scenario: the market rose and rose and rose and those monumental buys closed at a huge profit. Actually, this happened on my M15 EU demo today and the buys closed at a stonking profit that more than wiped out the DD.

Not-totally-disastrous scenario: a handful of sell stops filled before the market screamed upwards. Eventually the hedged position closed at my hedge position tp of 30 pips. That is a position that once came close to a margin call. Anyone here thinks the exercise would be worthwhile trading live?

Anybody here want to live with live trading like that?

Someone here suggested that this ea might be something tradable earlier. It is not. It is a toy. I am going to go back and delete that post.

:xm:
One would need more than balls of steel to live trade with this :jump:
Also constantly willing to jump in and add additional stops to ride the move going back to the open trades far from the current price.

It also just shows how nice HGI is partnered with the grid hedge method is as we have a good entry point producing more profitable trades :!!:

It's fun to watch on a demo!
The grid comes back to haunt us once again. Spooky.

Programmers - have you ever made a toy for an experiment with the intention of losing money and blowing the account? What would that trade like? Isn't it funny that even reversing signals in an EA doesn't "fix" it.
Just my random thoughts.

BTW - cool name for an EA!

I add my prayers for the continued well being of your boiler.

My prayers probably will not help. I am in for a highly awkward interview in a few years time (ok, so I hope in quite a lot of years time but there are no guarantees at my age), should my religious beliefs turn out to be mistaken.

Doesn't stop me hedging my bets on behalf of your boiler.

Thinking about it, is a "COLD SNAP from HELL" possible?
