Maybe I'm full of it, and am talking BS but what about making live easier for the programmers and use renkocharts? The griddistance being the size of the candle?
The open of a new candle triggers any event based on the flowchart/ simulator.

Trust me, Renko brings with it unnecessary complications. It really is not hard to compute that the market has moved x pips from a value to now.

Leave the coding stuff to those of us who know what we are doing, ok? You just keep the ideas flowing. You are good at that.

I have started the EA. I am going to take my time with this one. I will let you have it in dribs and drabs so you can try to break it as I go. I will start a new thread once it is complete.

For now, all the bot does is draw a line at the current price if there is not already one in place (ok, so it also stores the baseline price if the line does already exist, but I have to doe some future planning, ok?). RnR will use this to work out whether to open a trade DistanceBetweenTradesPips above/below this line, then redraw the line at the appropriate level.

Coding the EA will be a slow and painful process folks. By keeping all of you aware of what I am doing, I hope to be maximising the chances of successful progress by minimising coding bloops going astray.

Next step is to ensure that the line jumps when the market moves DistanceBetweenTradesPips above/below the current baseline. Once we know that is working correctly, we can start to make it trade.

Fledgling coders might benefit from tagging along here. I am posting insights into my mental process when developing an EA.

Hmmmm. Sad to say that it has been necessary for me to crap the discipline whip here twice already tonight.

If your post has disappeared, it is because I think you are an International Standard Space Waster. One more 'contribution' here and I will disallow your ability to post here at all.

For the benefit of those of you too stupid to read my Welcome message when you first joined, SHF is not a democracy. It is a meritocracy. Frequent posters earn the right to post frequently by the value of their initial posts.

Cretins and dimwits are unwelcome. This is my final warning to the latest batch of said cretins and dimwits.

I am very excited about this EA, as I believe Remon is a very creative thinker. Thank you for the renewed interest.

I believe this system has a lot of strengths and is quite good at shedding losing positions. Knowing that every system has an achilles heel, and that there is no such thing as a 'no loss system' it is good to keep in mind what the system does well and what market conditions it does not perform well in. That way, we can look to execute the system where is has the best chance of success.

In going through the simulator provided here, I was able to determine that the system does not perform well when in an uptrend where price moves up three levels and then back down one level (flip this for a downtrend). If the market were to do this for some time, it would look similar to the image pictured below in the trade window. I have included a chart showing where this type of price action might occur. Not disparaging the system, there are no foolproof systems. It will just give us an idea on how we can plan to use the strategy to its strengths rather than it weakness. Basically, matching up the grid to the markets harmonics where it is statistically unlikely to do the three up one down routine.

Remon,

Thank you for the quick response and for your system ideas. I checked the box you suggested. It had a different outcome. This time the 'harmonic' required to keep the system going on not closing out the losing trades was up four, down two - with that box checked. It is likely this would not occur exactly like this over and over in a real trade, but it is good to know. I appreciate your continued involvement in this thread.
