Hi Bt,

Long time ;)
It would be unlikely to have off setting for wrong direction trades if your settings have BE and JS, e.g. if there is a long trade after breaking previous candle's top but the market falls, and breaks the previous candle's low and a short trade is placed, but due to BE / JS, the short trade may be closed earlier and the trend carries on with bear run, offsetting will not work in this case, therefore the long trade will be openly unattended at a big DD.

The only way is not to set BE / JS and use MTPM to basket close for all trades when overall target is met.
This is why I like the daily timeframe. If you have 24 pairs looking for a breakout of the previous days high low.You are bound to get it right somehow. I dont believe that 24 pairs will give you a false break out. So far I have been lucky enough to close a basket of not less than 100 pips profit per day. It could be good to have a basket profit in this Ea as I have been doing it manually. For now, I have been closing all trades towards the end of day. It is very likely that after the breakout and breakeven setting that you will have some runners with nice profit. I have been getting beween 5 and 10 trades per day.

As you correctly say, the problem of course lies when trades go against you and you have some trades left behind and building a bigger drawdown. This especially happens when you have Doji candles iow a small range and indecisiveness. Complex Single sided offsetting should sort this out if you have runners with a retrace back in the direction of the trades left behind. Trust me it will be so. Perhaps I should look at decreasing unbalanced positions to 2 seeing it is the daily timeframe. When there is intent in the market your trades will run. Breakeven being taken out on the daily time frame after a break out is a good sign for you to get out anyway, so I will not do away with this. Using Mptm is a good way for you to to look for a basket take profit and something I am doing manually for the time being.

Stoplosses are a personal choice and be free to do it the way you wish, but post you results and your settings. For me a basket stoploss might be the way to go.

Cheers
Leon

Thanks Leon. I'll look into this EA's testing when I have free time to do so. I'm currently committed to some personal matters. Thanks, keep in touch.

Hi Leon, your current settings are as follows :-

StopLossPips=0
BreakEvenTargetPips=15
BreakEvenTargetProfit=2 (15 - 2 = 13 pips difference)

Just my wild ideas without a testing on the EA to have SL setting, instead of setting the BE = 2 pips, why not to have another creative angle to set the following (your JS yet remains the same at 25 pips) :-

If StopLossPips=15
BreakEvenTargetPips=30
BreakEvenTargetProfit=17 (30 - 17 = 13 pips difference)

If StopLossPips=20
BreakEvenTargetPips=35
BreakEvenTargetProfit=22 (35 - 22 = 13 pips difference)

This is to cover the closed trade at loss if at wrong direction ? Thanks, BT

Yes sure. There is always room for creativity. :)

I will play with this.

Thanks

Thanks for trying this, hopefully it works. In fact, except hedging strategy, I personally do not encourage any trade that without a SL setting as it will expose the account openly unattended at a very potential high risk.

Let me take an example for all the CAD pairs that happened on 06 Sept 2017 (Wed) at server time in between 16:30 to 17:00, the market had a big gap of 200 pips suddenly and bounced back immediately with 100 pips. Without a SL, this would be a disaster if the gap was in non-favourite direction. Thanks, BT

So it is time to walk the talk. Certainly not the doomsday scenario yet as described by Bt ... Sorry Bt, I just had to help myself to this ;). But yes, I take note of what you say and will cross the bridge when I get to it. I know you are busy at the moment but I can only suggest testing it for yourself to get a feel for it.

Significant is that my winners outweigh my losers with acceptable draw down. It has been a case of manually closing winning baskets with +- 100 pips profit a shot with losers inbetween.

First full week of testing with all trades wrapped and sealed. I shall not get ahead of myself here. Fortunes can change in the blink of an eye. :)

Have a nice weekend
Cheers
Leon

I am testing H4 with Leon's settings.. SL 25.. TP is open.. BE at 50.. JS 10.. looks promising. made 820 pips and closed everything manually.. just 2 days though.. will run it for few weeks and see the results.
Thank You Leon and Steve.. :hi:

Hi Leon,

Reporting in on using your CPMP Strict set to confirm your results as well.
Only 2 days but 37-5 record...18 closures by SL and manually closed the remainder
positive float today just before 16:00 GMT. Very very impressive!! :yahoo:

Sincere thank you Leon and Mr. Hopwood for your continued hardwork and success.

Hi Leon
In your set,RollOverEnds=09.30 .
In your scenario,do you use this feature to control orders?
But it was not used in the EA source code.

Kanny :)

This is excellent, Pandaboy. Do keep us posted.

This is simply brilliant Geges :good: . Interesting to compare our different approaches ie my basket closing approach vs your method. Did you use a stop loss? and if so how many pips?
In your scenario,do you use this feature to control orders?
Nice spot Kanny. Yes I did this intentionally.

Anyway Guys, many thanks for testing and do post your results.

Cheers
Leon
