HGBnT Report

End of Week 1:

Lots of ups and downs in the first week. Testing different settings for optimum performance.

Total Pip count: 1,556
Cash Up: $138.6 [if this is on live account, I will be smiling to the bank today :smile: ]

- I moved from M1 to M5 to M15 to M30
- I changed the HGI com several times for the convenient and seemingly stable trend. I want something that can hold ground even during some red news.
- M15 + M30/H1/H4 was swinging up and down quite a number of whipsaws
Verdict: Too volatile for my liking

- M15 + H1/H4/D1 also closed out some trades in losses during the USD news yesterday
Verdict: Too volatile for my liking

- M30 + H1/H4/D1 doing just fine. Better than M15 + H1/H4/D1 [this has been running for 2 days with cool results]. I will share at end of day
Verdict: ok but a few negative trade closures

- H1 + H4/D1/W1 The cool, quiet, slow and steady one. No surprises. [this has been running for 2 days, no closures yet]. I will share at end of day
Verdict: Offers stability. I like this.

What Next

- Continue the previous test next week but change the settings to M30 + H4/D1/W1

- Provide status updates on the following 2 settings
M30 + H1/H4/D1
H1 + H4/D1/W1

- Set up another demo for M15 + H4/D1/W1

I attached some pictures to give you an idea of how the bot trades and why I prefer the HTFs.

- I am looking for something that can keep me in trades for longer (say a week). Start on Monday and close on Friday with whatever is on the table ( H1 + H4/D1/W1 might deliver this)
- I also want another than can reach the $100 equity increase target like 2 or 3 times in a week (I am yet to find the better solution for this but will choose between 3
- M30 + H1/H4/D1 or M15 + H4/D1/W1 or M30 + H4/D1/W1

As per my previous post. Here is the update on the H1/H4/D1/W1 set

I received some requests for set files.

These are the set files for my tests. Try them out. To understand better how they work, visualize with the MTF HGI which Thomas magnanimously offered the house. It made my trading so simple. Dont forget that HGI history is irrelevant but may give you clues as to how you may have traded if you were in front of your screen.

If you are a long term trader, H1/H4/D1/W1 (any 3 combination is cool at least for now until the market decides otherwise).

I have a question.

MinimumDistanceBetweenSignalsPips: does it apply to the price alone or it considers both price and magic number?

I am considering running 2 instances of the EA on the same platform because there is no room for more Empty4 installations. If the MinimumDistanceBetweenSignalsPips does not know which of the instances placed the trade, it will prevent the other from placing trades within the distance if both have the conditions enabled and the true results may be impaired.

Don't be so bloody silly.

Read the very top of my thread again and consider the "To trade this robot, you have to understand:" bit. I am not mucking around when I post that.

I am not answering this stupid question and forbid others to do so as well. This poster has to learn the basics. Dimwitted posts by soon-to-be-ex-members too lazy and stupid to do their own thinking are not welcome at SHF, and will attract the usual sanctions. There is no way back once said sanctions are applied.

And yes, it took me a lot longer to write the reply than if would have taken to reply to this dimwit's question but consider this: most people take notice of the SHF ethos, so imagine how much time I have saved over the years by not accommodating cretins.

A good general rule at SHF is this: you have a question to ask?; think twice about asking it; ask yourself if you really need to ask it; consider the prabable outcome of asking it; shudder delicately and move on.

And I´m glad to help here at SHF, not just to name thomas, steve or bob. Most of the people here at SHF had teached me so much more than any site on this fucking planet. I´m a silent lurker for a long time, but i really think i could help here. I´m a professional coder like i said, and if there´s anything i could do, please don´t be shy to ask me. I´m naturally not a mql4 coder (who can say this), but everyone that ever had coded something knows, that:
code is code.

Long story short, I want to play the exactly thingy Steve does, but M30 instead of M15. I think the setup is very fine and pretty well thought out. So I just want to differ the trading time frame.

My test settings;

M30 trading time;
H1/H4/D1 higher time frames all enabled
HtfMinimumAlignment=2;
Trading trend arrows and blue wavy lines;
Only taking the trend trades;
not closing on an opposite direction signal or yellow wavy;

max trades 5 at 30 pips intervals in the grid and an equity increase target of $50;
MinMinutesBetweenTrades=60
