Studying points like this. It appears that there is an entry forming at diff peaks associated with a pull back to a channel deviation and than a subsequent cross of the Diff down over the cross line in the direction of trend. The x cross of the two lines would make a good re-entry into the prevailing trend. It may be also that the peak of the Diff line and the position of price related to a channel deviation may also be enough for an entry. As I trade this setup I am going to look for this and see if it is viable in active trading.

Just a thought - this isn't really a 10.2 strategy but rather a TMA Slope/Diff strategy.

Perhaps we should move it to the "Manual trading systems" section of the forum so as to not confuse people coming into the 10.2 section of the forum. Let me know if you think this is a good idea and I'll move the thread for you.

I think that is an excellent idea Jemook and if you can do that I would appreciate it. Yes at the time I thought I would be heading in that direction but truly you are correct. If your not able to do that I will mention it to Steve.

I was not aware of this potential trade at the time it started because I was getting ready to go to bed but this is a very nice breakout. 15 min chart.

A thanks to JeMook for moving the thread.

Nice one Slowkey!

Was just looking at your pic on the M15 and was asking myself what would have made me pull the trigger on that cross and not on the previous 8 or 9 other crosses? I am sure you already have part if not all of that answer :D ......maybe something to do with the MACD lines plunging and diverging while the TMA cross occurs......definitely interesting and like your modifications on the ATR/period params.

Cheers

Thanks Zypip .... often there is slight move in the opposite direction before a break out down or up and I think the NT indicator shows that too.

I wanted to illustrate the Fibonacci levels on each of the templates that are associated with the channels. I know some people feel Fibonacci just works because people use it but I think when you see how it relates in a channel you may get the understanding that there is some science behind it.

1 All levels in order out side in 2.62 1.62 1.27 1.00 0.62 than center channel

2 Std levels in order outside in 1.62 1.00 than center channel
3 Min levels in order outside in 1.27 0.62 than center channel
4 Max levels in order outside in 2.62 1.27 than center channel

eurusd 15 move between levels.gif

One last chart this am. Notice how the move in EURUSD went all the way from the upper outer std deviation of 1.62 to the lower outer deviation of 1.62.

Than see how price hit the center of the channel on a slight correction. Really nice to see price interact with the channel. It helps you get use to the rhythm of its movement with in a pair and anticipate trades. The channel just like daily pivots adjust everyday. The channel is looking back 5 days and the pivots one.

Edit
On further thought on the lower channel it found support at the 1.27 level even though it did touch the 1.62 .
Edit
(Originally I had wrote resistance instead of support) Support is what EURUSD found at the 1.27.

cool eurusd 4 hour.gif
I just keep seeing some very cool setups on the NT indicator .... Looking at trades and just happened to put GBPNZD on the 4 hour time period.

How would you have liked to have got into this 4 hour 4 week trade. I put the deviation channel on this chart with a 30 day look back just to show you how neat this move was.

Kind of interesting, it is the second time I notice this pattern in the pic you posted which resulting in profitable trades......might investigate further :D
