Hello Fellow Traders, Here is my “elastexitement” of the day Pair: NZDCHF TF: Irrelevant. D1 = 0.8 (Strong bullish Trend) H1 = -0.4 (bearish trend) Gap: 1.2 (summation absolute values) As you see on the picture, this information was taken a bit late. The trend resumption was already initiated. I suspect when the PA was at the red line (on the 1st picture), the gap was certainly greater than 1.2 (probably 1.5 or 1.6). If you look at picture 2, the elastic effect happened. D1 (the 300 pounds tough guy http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 611#p19611) is still at 0.8 and although the 75 pounds fellow tried to get away from him, he just bounced back and gave us a good long trade (+- 65) pips. Although I have a few indis on my chart, I only use the TMA slope value to perform that trade. Don’t you just love this indi ? Cheers! Bunker |

Bunker, it looks like you're using an indicator that just shows the current value of the D1/H1 slopes. Do you realize you can use Neotrader's MTF TMA to see a history of the signals? Here I've displayed the D1 and H1 slopes. The D1 is fairly flat in this chart, and the cursor is at the roughly 1.5-spread level. You can see it gave some nice signals. Doesn't always work but it does look like a pretty good entry point. |

Hello Fellow Traders, The TMA slope value behavior (comparison) with its different TF has been kind of an obsession for me for the last 2 weeks. It is just unbelievable all the information we can get from it. So far, strategies based on the Trend and Trend Resumption as per definition in post 1 showed great potential. Defining “retracement” seems to be more challenging. So I deleted the previous definition (for this one) in post 1 until someone finds another potential definition. But… here is something that looks promising for defining a retracement (for those who love risk and want to Counter Trend). If you look at the picture below (this is H1 TF), within the TMA True Slope Histo, I’ve added the M15 slope (yellow’ish) to the D1 Slope (blue). In a bullish market (reverse for bearish) you will quickly realized that several reversals match with a M15 slope > D1 slope. See vertical lines. This is kind of a “reverse stretchy” (for those who are familiar with the EA). Food for thought! My test next week will be to perform some more analysis on gaps (stretch). I want to see if D1 always wins the "gap battle" independently of the market condition (Trending or not). For instance, if D1 = 0.2 (ranging market) and H1 drop to -1.0. Will H1 snap back to D1 after the stretch (even in a ranging market) ?... Many thanks for all your PMs and support to continue with these definitions. Cheers! Bunker |

That's basically a visual way of subtracting one TF's TMA from another, which is what I've been thinking about. I think your original gap-calculation idea was spot on. I've been using D1 and H1 instead of D1 and M15, but the idea is, look at the gap -- (H1 TMA)-(D1 TMA). When that goes below about -1.3 to -1.5, that's a pretty good bullish pullback. +1.3 - +1.5 is a good bearish pullback. M15 is faster, but maybe a little TOO fast. I'd rather get in on the back side of a pullback, instead of jumping in early and getting stopped out. Most of the time, though, M15 seems to work really well. Especially if you're following it on an M15 chart instead of an H4 chart like I do. |

i bealive the same idea can be used for scalping the market after NY close and before Shangai open. What is D1 to H1, i bealive it is H1 to M1-M5. Something like a mean reverting strategy, and we only need to find what best strech suits for that time frame. |
