Well, looking at it a bit more, I'm not sure how well it would work.

Going CT against a strong trend -- Slope > 0.4 or 0.6 -- is crazy IMHO. When a strong trend is moving, trading against it looks to be a pretty low-percentage bet. Looking at a few examples I don't see too many cases when the H1 slope is significantly above the D1 slope, if the D1 is already up at 0.8 or whatever.

Maybe when the trend has faded and the D1 slope is coming back to 0. See e.g. this example: D1 slope peaked over 1.2 and now is heading down, and H1 slope peaks provide good "CT" entries. But really, even though D1 slope is still high, I'd say it's not so much a "CT" entry as it is an entry in the direction of the NEW trend that the D1 slope hasn't quite caught up with yet.

What do you think?

I absolutely agree with that statement

Agree again. This is why in the “Definition” thread http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 081#p20081, I switched the H1 to M15. The signal for CT is more frequent and precise but still, not the perfect solution.

This is a good observation. I suspect that when D1 slope value is between -0.4 and 0.4, we could trade only based on H1 value whether it is above D1 (for Long) or below D1 (for Short). I’ll put that one on my test plan!. ;)

True, assuming that the trend changes direction. It might go in a range mode and come back in force as a buy…

Thanks garyfritz. This is the kind of post that make my wheels spin. More questions than answers but this is how it usually starts…right ? :)

Cheers!

im using this bot with MPTM to take profit after basket hits $50. basket TP was hit, but the EA immediately retriggered the trades on the pairs that had just closed. is there any way to make the bot/MPTM sleep for a certain period after basket TP, ala BJeS?

No. This one is not a basket trader, so if you close a trade and trading conditions are still in place the bot will take the trade.

Stretchy made 20 trades today. They all hit BE. No losers.
Time to tweak my MM strategy..

I've had 9 trades this week (connectivity probs meant none today and most of yesterday), all hit BE as well.

B&F's posts sent me to look at the unattended demo. Yep. Lots of BE trades. Current DD approx x2 the accumulated profit.

I can live with this. One of the thingies I have learned with 10.2 trading is this; they may go the wrong way for a while, but eventually they come into line.

Over to you for the MM stuff, Bunker.

Nearly 700pp. today. 2 baskets. Very interesting EA.Extremly complicated trading day but EA behaves!
Bunker-Your idea finds confirmation. To tell the truth -some insignificant tuning needed.

That’s amazing harry45 !

I had a bit of success myself today with that EA…but nothing like yours. I used MPTM and got 3 BE and 5 winners. No losers. Still looking for the best settings.

Can I ask you for the details of your insignificant tuning ? :D

The good news is that although it is a “trend resumption” strategy, it still seems to perform well when the trend is weakening… (last 2 days) allowing us some time to remove the EA if there is a reversal.

Well done!
