Yepp. I know that he stated it to be a beta but it's a long time gone since he said that. How long would it take to be finished? Nobody can answer that question. Here is so much power that I will focus on what I can get here. When I see no more progress then I will look at entropy... but this will take some time. Haven't grasped 10.2 in its full potential anyway :-)

Good idea,
I'm also getting on with some manual practising.. Theres too much going on, so it would'nt be a bad idea to wait for the EA to come up. Lio is pretty good thats side with the coding. I'm waiting for the EA. That way, when the signal is working, the ea can trade for us.

I prefer to look for the most usable EA that does it all. Thats what i'm gunning for, i'm lazy you see!!   i mentioned this before, we all need to focus on what we are trying to achieve.

Its a very good idea to learn at least 2 manual systems. 10.2 is brilliant and i like Slowkeys intra-day method. I also have'nt mastered them yet, but i know when i have a live EA or any Beast EA go's passed L3 recovery, one will need to know how to trade recovery for oneself. Its impossible to be a trader and not understand how to enter and exit a trade. We might get it wrong but at least have some idea and being able to make an educated decision if to buy or sell.
my 2 cents,,, again.

Hi All,

Matt_32 pm'ed me about keeping organised and how i go about keeping the demos up to date. I'm sorry to say there is'nt any 'shortcuts' or apps that can help out here that i know of, and believe there are many running their own demos and it might be helpfull to share some ideas here.
If anyone has a working method, kindly post so we can all get a better idea. Thank you Matt_32.

Okay, i keep daily notes in a 'diary' for each day. Sometimes, i make rash changes and dont have the time at that moment to update the fxpage settings.

I mean it takes time to open the page, click on settings, get to the particular demo listing and then save the changes, so what i do , i make manual notes, and when i have the time from work, i go back and get the demos updated that way. Its so much easier to just jot down the changes in pen. SOmetimes, almost immediately the changes are no-good, so i dont need to make a permanent change on the notes, but just to make a mention of it, so others, and myself, are aware and dont forget.

FXpage keeps me informed to settings i forget, like when testing Wolfie's slope settings, i had made a full circle and was testing settings i had already tested. This was due to bad note taking. Sorted now.

I'm also going to be updating/posting here weekly or bi-weekly on highlights or systems to take note of. Feel free to ask about a particular one, but i'll just be commenting on the latest updates, or an EA that suddenly comes to life for whatever reason. I think it will save a lot of time for you all rather than to browse through a gazillion demos, and not knowing whats happening or what to look for in each one.

I'm updating right now and will be posting later in the day about these, notably my personal fixation on Fate's xmeter thread and JL's tremendous contributions there. Also, blast-from-the-passed, SlopeyFractals has sunddenly come up with a bang. Will comment more in the next catch-up post here.
regards and hope you Brits in the rainfall affected areas are keeping warm and out of harms way.

Hi AAll,
took a little longer than i though, still got 2 PC's to get through but here is what i got so far.

Okay, Trendy Gary is showing promise. I watched the EURUSD position go well into profit, and then come back to sit at a huge loss. Then it came back into profit and it didnt seem to want to close. I changed the settings by removing any SL and TP and brought in MPTM with my usual settings. Added a few charts and now it seems to be doing pretty well. Lets see whne the markets trend changes.

Ixmeter, please keep an eye on these if you're interested. Huge developments from JL and those familiar with settings of DC's FR will feel very at-home with the code. There are quite a few similarities and you should'nt have any issues reading through the code and understanding the settings. Made some small changes amongst all platforms with one major Exterem setting on this demo 'Ix V228 Extreme, CCY7,3 Grid 30, Stoch 5and1, RecTrig2 - CC.'

Slopey Fractals, has come out of the woodwork, so SL and TP here is doing the trick with JS and BE again. It seems SF has a common issue like Slopey Slope that they open positions and eventually turn to profit, although they take their positions under different settings. Check those out as well as Sundog's demo for Slopey SLope.

Bobs Bot seemes to be holding on there with Triple align setting at true, It might be the trending market , but getting concerned for this EA.

Updated my Live megadroid with very conservative settings, Updated all live accounts to v228 xmeter, normal settings as set files from older versions. Updated to FR 9.01 and verye xcited about this one.
Started a demo for MultiStochRSi trader .

Getting concerned about Baluda EA, MultiBob and Alex's version of 10.2. Very little progress on accounts there andf running out of ideas. ALso for Balls and Wolfie. Wolfie's charts are down to just a few, so on its last legs with me.

Added set files from Spot, thanks Dave, for MultiMac, and MultiStochRsi trader.
Thats it for now.
until next time, good luck all with the new week.

cuz, thanks for all your work.....

I am curious - could you outline somewhere your hardware set-up please? Do you run all the demos on a VPS or always on computers? How many EA's per machine etc....

Cheers & thanks again for doing all this work

Hi MTH, Its a pleasure and hope you are gaining form the info.
I use 5 PC's as any normal user would do. 3 at home and 2 at work. I dont use VPS's so as to keep to a 'real' setup.

I have two 32bit PC's running a max on ram and duo Processors. They run normal disk drives and i run a max of about 7 platforms on each. There are limitations to how many indicators you put on them, so mine are relatively low on indis as i try to run just what is completely necessary for the associated EA. I do find that slowkeys intraday method indis , some of Baludas and Neotraders CCS can slow the platforms down quite a bit on the 32 bit computers if used on too many pairs. The history script also kills (slows down) these machines. I have about 10 pairs open on each platform with mixed templates on the 32bit PC's.

My main systems are 64 bit machines with 12 to 24 gig of ram , all on i7's with the best SSD's i could get at the time, and one is running a revoX2 c-drive. These systems fly and i can run even upto 20 platforms on each one before they start to slow down a bit. I make weekly system backups on normal disk drives, and when one of my mirrored SSD setups failed, i had to boot off the normal drive. Absolutley impossible to go back to normal drives and never managed to boot all platforms successfully using a normal drive, even with all the ram and fancy PC boards, etc etc.

I also run TRADER terminals aswell as an instance of MT5, and trying to get onto tradestation to see how it works. Just dont have time right now.

Internet line is important and i'm lucky to have a very fast trial line of upto 40M download speed from our local provider. Normal fastest lines here are upto 10M download speeds and this has worked fine upto now. Been getting a consistant 5M up until the new installation and this was enough, but torrents or skype calls were impossible to use when all systems running and market was 'busy'.

There's one point that is important to mention here. All the platform setups have been installed to 'programs' folder on 32bits, and to 'programs(86)' on the 64 bit machines. Its becoming very clear that some systems work better when installed directly to the root of C:. Refer to DC's recent post (i cant find it right now and i think it was there somewhere) in the FR threads. SWG123's reply confirms this setup is better for FR so keeping my eyes and ears open for any events that might need this change sooner than later.
I might have to slowly start re-intalling to C: soon, but have'nt yet.

Will be posting tonight or tomorrow about some of the demos, have to start giving up on some, breaks my heart to do this, but need the terminals. I see Steve is at it again with new EA's.

Hope this helps with setting up your own demos, and dont forget to make lots of notes when you make changes, name the set files accordingly and even the EA's when you put them on the charts, so you know what settinsg you're using at a glance of the name. EG: SlopeySv1d,Slope,3,6,0FracTF1440...etcetc.mq4.

This really helps, and when you do change the settings, hardcode by changing the name too and keep notes of this, very important, you'll end up testing what you've already tested and thats really a waste of time.

regards
cuz

FWIW it's not necessary to install directly into the root of C:\. That works, but so does almost anywhere else, as long as it's not under C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86). Just create a folder somewhere (C:\MyMT4, or C:\This\Is\My\Stuff\Empty4, or whatever) and install your MT4s under that.

Post subject:  Re: What's cuzgeorge demo testing?

I always wondered about MT5 and why no one uses it? Is it because all the EA's are written for Empty4?

Also I'm quite interested in Jforex platform ( Dukascopy ), which uses Java.

I need to upgrade my system, I got 6 Empty4 running on a slowish comp in VMware, server 2008, it struggles bigtime and sometimes one of the Empty4 installs hangs :( I don't think Empty4 is written very well to be efficient.

I always install Empty4 in C:\trading\blah_blah etc and increment in the installs with a number.

Regarding X-meter, I tried that last week and its the first EA that has blown a demo account for me (never traded anything live yet as a im a relative newby). Very dangerous!

Bodleytunes,
Thanks for your informative post.

Xmeter, you're definately on the wrong criminal or settings. can you PM or post on the xmeter thread a pic of your screen?. I'd like to see how you are setup there and guide you on this. I will elaborate on the xmeter thread later today when i post my demo update here and there. Please make sure you run on a large ratio criminal and have at least $5k in the account (demo off-course). The xmeters i'm running have all performed well , including the new v2.2.8 from JL. The king for me, is still the one i posted in a lengthy post, up 16% in 3 weeks. ALex forex and spotdespot can verify similar results. I'm sure there are others too.

Gary knows best here and i'm glad he corrected me on the install directory. Its always helpfull to get clarification from others, thank you.

As for Java, I'm not very familiar with the Java based accounts, but did use them on demo when i first started my forex journey. I found they would lag behind the trader and Empty4 platforms. I did'nt have the latest systems yet, but was running on a decent 64bit PC at the time. Thats why i steered away from any other application, or any web-based client. I found they would crash and hang regularly. Definately not a system problem, i understand how the PC's work and i had no bugs or viruses to blame for the slack performance. Browser errors, ? Maybe? but when looked at as a whole, i couldnt execute trades as quick as Empty4 or the trader clients.

MT5 is not well supported yet, but i'm sure we'll all end up there sooner than later. I'm surprised why we havent moved on yet, given the problems with Empty4. I suppose there are huge benefits when just about everything to do with forex is written in MQL4.

please send me that screen pic showing the crim and EA on a chart. I know you going to like this one. Keep it running, actually , forget about it, and come back after you've tested a whole lot of other EA's and you'll see.
