But isn't this condition assuming we are in ranging markets and staying there? Problem is that usually we only know in hindsight if markets are ranging or trending, and when we see it ranging it does not mean it will stay so.

Or do I misunderstand that, and you are saying that you are only trading off pullbacks that had gone beyond the WP?

I don't think it matters whether ranging or not although you might not get the pullback to WP on a strong trend in which case use a different level e.g. DP, but in a strong trend I think it may be better to trade the 4H rather than the 1H which is what Bob put in motion with 10.4 for 4H and 10.5 for the 1H.

So what I've learnt this week is 1. Even with 10.X there are trades available 2. In a tight ranging market drop down to 1H and trade Jem style :D

Please test your setup realtime with demo because I think CSS isn't valuable for visual backtesting. Please let us know the results.

Hi Fok, if I had the skills I put this into an EA but I don't so I'll set this up and trade it manually on Demo, although I am experimenting with steves script CCS colour change. With the CSS for backtesting, as far as I am aware there is no repainting because ignore future is set to true, and also the analysis was based on candle close, but you could be right, you can't beat forward testing.

I believe I can easily tweak the 10.5 ea to your rules, a few questions though

Rules (very similar to Jem)
1. Above 240 (960 ma 1H) buy, opposite sell
2. Use WP, for long price below WP, short above -> again only weekly pivots?
3. Place trade on CSS change to green for long, red for short -> h1 or h4
4. Close either on WR1/WS1 reached or ignore pivot and just close on CSS colour change -> again color change on h1 or h4, current bar or last closed bar
5. With the RSI2 TMA H4 I'm flexible with this one, so long as I've seen it pinned recently then I'm good to go -> pinned on h1 or h4, pinned how recent?

That would be awesome.
1. Standard 240 H4/960 H1 rules
2. Standard OOTB WP, but if you are able to code in other option like DP is good. (The WS1 WR1 take care of themselves because if price has retraced to WS1 then it's already the right side of WP)
3. CSS change is on H1, (out of goldenrod into green or red is better) (or if possible to have input to specify the difference of the two lines e.g. 0, 2.5, 3 etc, that way the trader can make his own choice)
4. Colour change on H1, (again if possible the option for difference of two lines is good), and I'm using values on the close of last candle C1
5. This is a little tricky, and perhaps an option to include or not include, but say RSI has pinned within the last 24 hours

If you can code the above, I think would be fantastic, and add to your growing list of achievements :D

Ooh those already there in my current version, just that it's using DP, my unreleased one has the wp option

The only thing is RSI pinned, but shouldn't be too much of an issue on that one

Currently trying to figure out the CSS which doesn't seem to show the same value as 10.5.

Andy any idea why?

I close the trade with small losses :( after CSS change the color to GOLD, iam too late to close the trade earlier, looks the market still wait 'n see and waiting for the FOMC statement on 2.00 ET.. for now, better i close the trade and continue after the market continuing the trend..
