thanks - have upload a newer version with the fix in the original post... Mine works with the fixed small list, but if I add strange symbols I can get blanking problems - no idea why... but I just stick to my pairs.. have added a suggestion on the post too for those with problems (using autoSymbols = false; and listing your exact symbol pairs in symbolsToWeigh - that might avoid some problems) oops & another fix - where the diamond (H1 traffic light) wasn't disappearing.. deleted & re-uploaded fix file |

hi padnoter, i am not clear about the logic adopted for the h1 green arrow in the history indicator. my understanding was that these should be marked when stoc is below 20 and price is below ma15. kindly see the attached chart: for all the green arrows marked with a white vertical line, the stoc is above 20. for the two marked in red, the stoc is not only above 20, it is descending. would you throw some light please... thanks. |

Love the unpaid analyst jibe A dairy-like comment on not being able to see it[/u]: Moo, moo moo... moo moo moo. Sorry, typo. Try again. A diary-like comment on not being able to see it[/u]: I've figured out why I was having trouble to understand such a simple system. 10.6 doesn't really match gut feelings on a strategy and the habits that I've already formed. I think this is why I've missed such obvious things and just can't see it, if you know what I mean. 10.6 is about trading into a pre-existing trend. It requires use of indicators which are a bit laggy and I have trouble accepting that. When you're starting out that's a bit hard to guess ahead on. I always seem to be behind in reacting. I've become used to just looking at the candles and drawing ranges and trends in my head. I still want to get the hang on it though and the CSS and dashboards are going to be great for scanning many options in one go. Bob started off as a trader trading against the trend... I've got this idea in my head (which could be a load of rubbish) that if I trade against the trend when the trend has been running for a while, that I have a good chance of catching it at reversal so while I might make smaller gains this way, every once in a while I'll get a big win. I don't know if this is a bad idea or not. Perhaps it's a limiting belief - Bob shows you can win both ways and we should be looking at both opportunities and more. I think I'm attached to this because I've made some very big wins this way and I'm failing to see the bigger picture - that small pips can add up too. Also, I remember the times when I've been burnt trying to go with a trend and it's reversed, burning me. I've been doing naked trading and I can see that what CaptainJack does might be very different to this system. I've kind of indoctrinated myself now. Really I should be able to use aspects from both. I've been trying to follow the system when really I have to find something that feels right for me. In my manual backtest testing I try to guess reversals before they happen - just looking at the charts, trying to feel when it's running out of steam for a reversal. This might be bumping up against resistance weakly with more gap between testing levels. I enjoy this less robotic side of trading. I think I should be doing what I enjoy - which is gambling basically... but crucially using systems to keep what I do in check. I haven't figured out how to marry the 2 yet in a way that stays true to myself. Although great for take-profit I also don't like using obvious levels such as the 240MA for stops. I don't know... I prefer to give a bit of extra space. I don't have enough experience and I think getting a stop-hunted like experience a few times has impressed that memory... maybe more than it should do? I prefer to go a bit past the level. The only problem is that this ruins risk:benefit ratio so it's rarely 1:3 in each trade... which is what I like to aim for. After having traded stops I found they always stopped me from being profitable in the naked trade. Padnoters Dashboard - to fix Empty4 linux/wine fonts that causes arrows not to show: * copy c:\Windows\fonts to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts/ (especially Ariel as that's the default font). * You can also get wine to use a different font by setting an alias (slightly more work with the .wineconfig file) Other - Coincidently, has anyone been burnt by JPY bearish run over the past year? This month I've been convinced at any point it's going to turn around and pop... and it just keeps getting lower and lower! We should have a good laugh about it to let off steam... and keep clarity on the trades in the process. - getting capacity message on the forum. Not sure if this is my slow internet or a reminder from Steve's paypal account |

Hi pgd, Hope I can help. The H1 green arrows just replicate the H1 traffic light bar (as it was at the close of the H1 bar) The relevant part of traffic light code (the indi in Bob's package - 10.6B1H dummy lights 10.28.mq4) is; Code: Select all As I can only do 1 arrow per bar I use the closing price on the H1 bar. Stoch only affects arrows when the price is Ranging (price between H4 60 & 240) Hope that makes sense & I've interpreted it correctly! |

If you strip 10.6 down to just the 60 MA you could easily adapt it to Capt. Jacks. If price aint touchin the 60 be wary of the CT trade. If price touches the 60 you can use his system probably better than my range trade suggestions. 10.0 Started with the 10MA on the daily which is the 60 on the 4H. It needed the 240 to balance it and give a better definition to a trend. Then I re-added it back in because it was so good at letting us know a trend had come to an end for now. So in a sense 10.6 was a blending of 10.0 with 10.4. In Capt. Jack's method your trying to trade off the highs but get bucked on hard trends. The 60 lets you know you are having a hard trend so you can lay off that trade. You can still trade a naked screen by blending the 60 with a color that fits the back ground so you hardly see it but it is there to help. I know they call it naked trading but you are still mentally putting indies on the screen. You can do the same thing with a slight variation of colors. I am having a good week already up 800+ pips and I have been laying off the gbp and aud moves thinking maybe they were over but they still keep climbing. If I had kept with them I probably would be well over 1000 for the week. This may sound crazy but only the eur/nzd have I made more than 100 pips on. I have made between 50-80 pips on 7 other currencies though so it is not that I am killing the market but just keep putting away those winners each session. I am kicking myself because the gbp/nzd is up 450 pips this week and I only have ridden 60. I just didnt believe it would keep running like it has. Oh well. But the small pops just keep adding up. |

JPY bearish run, we have been playing that all year. It is by govt. design and has accounted for over 30% of my trades. The govt. has a 2 year program, this is year 1, of every month depreciating the YEN. They sell bonds through the first 3 weeks and then it rises back up at the end of the month and beginning of the new month. Some negative news out of China has knocked that rhythm around some months but I have been playing it like clock work. I am expecting the JPY to gain some momentum here soon before the next bond sales are held in December. A news report from last week that the BOJ has felt the depreciation of the YEN has run out of steam and they plan on doing bigger sales of bonds in 2014. So that news story has stopped the end of the month appreciation so far this month. So we will be prepared for that run also when it happens next year. Long term you will not want to be buying the YEN but there are short term possibilities. |

Now if you average that for a week you will get a 1000 pip week. |
