It sure does and I don't understand why this was designed that way. Should the original signal (on the current candle) still be traded, even if it was superseded by another one, or was removed? Probably not -- that's why I think that the signal should be updated (on the chart) as and when they are changed.
I completely agree René - I can only assume it was to prevent the cries of "repaint" but I actually think it would be much cleaner if it just updated as conditions changed and the chart reflected the current state of play. This comment is probably more relevant for HGI than HGB but still valid imo.

Cheers,
Dave.

Today is a teaching day for me so I shall not be around. Elixe has just sent me an illuminating pm about the wavy lines, so I will copy it for you all later.

First week in the books!!! While this is a demo account, I am trying my best to treat it as though I can actually spend these dollars as I will be funding my account in February if I can keep the train moving...

BRAVO to the geniuses behind HGI... I never thought I'd have so much fun trading...

:hi:

EDIT: Re-posted in HGI thread...

Getting duplicate pending trades with version 1j. Also have a few duplicate trades when they convert from pending to actual trades. Used same set file as used on 1i version.

When i saw around h16.00 1100 pips, closed all started with the H version this morning at 0
Would be more if i downloaded the Handy script of Steve already.
In such circum standings you have to be quick.

The only thing was. I closed all but there were immediately orders opening again.
When it is rusch hour and you close all also the pendings it would be nice if autotrading stops to immediately.

Any suggestions??

Cheers :)

Just deactivate prior to close all EA's, so this will not happen..

Cheers :)

Ok peeps, scholarly glasses on?

First some explanation about how EA's interrogate indicators. They strap them into a chair, apply the electrods and send 200 volts throught their bodies.

Oops, sorry. Forgot I was on the forum and not indulging my favourite fantasy. Too much time spent with happily insane teenagers today.

EA's cannot 'see' what is on our charts. They rely in values stored in an indicator's 'buffers' and can interrogate those buffers. There are 8 of them, numbered with wonderful obfuscation 0 to 7, but displayed in the data window as 1 to 8.

An ea coder can work out which buffer stores which information. So, if HGB finds a value in buffer 0, it 'knows' that the indi has printed a large green trend arrow. It 'knows' there is a large red trend arrow if it finds a value in buffer 1 etc. That is to help you make sense of Denis's pm:
Hi Steve,

If by High wavy lines you are talking about buffer 7 (6 in base 0 for EA) and Low wavy lines about buffer 8 (7 in base 0 for EA) this is correct.

If you mean wavy lines on top of price or under the price this is not correct.

Wavy lines from buffer 7 (6 in base 0 for EA) are always telling you we entered the ±0.4 band, the position of waves are only telling you from where we are coming.
Wavy lines from buffer 8 (7 in base 0 fro EA) are always telling you we exited the ±0.4 band.

the position of waves only depends on which side of the band we are coming from or exiting from. See picture below for some visual explanations.
I know this is confusing, but I also wanted to show the wavy lines in term of Support & Resistance area, tell me if that's still not clear.

All HGB needs to know is when the market has entered a range; he doesn't care whether from above or below. This information will come in handy when we consider something Bob posted in his HGI thread earlier.

He wrote that he often trades from wavy line to wavy line, sending pending trades at each 20 level as in his norma multi-pair trading. You will have experienced the power of multi-level trading if you had the pendings set on UJ when NFP was released today. The 220 pips I gained from that is most of today's profit.

So, this suggests a fourth trading method to me. Here are my plans for HGB's development over the next few days, in no particular order:
  • add wavy line to wavy line trading.
  • add the option to start RAD grid trading with a pending trade on the next 20 line.
  • add ATR to the exit options for Trend and RAD trading.
Thrilling times.

I have just closed my remaining trades to be flat for the weekend. Given the way this monster trades, I see no point in leaving them open. Demo profit today is an extraordinary 338 pips, and amounts to 6% of the account balance.

Ok, so not the heady heights we reached on Wednesday, but 6% in one day without a hint of danger to the margin. Imagine 6% a day every day for a couple of years, then drool for an hour or two.

And that leaves aside Wednesday, when I could have closed out at +30% at one point but did not because I wanted to see what happens - or the day that Bob made ridiculous thousands of pips on his live account. mptm could have a role to play here; I might set it up to do a global closure at 20%.

Jury is still out on the Range trades. They could ultimately fail, but the multi-layering of Trend and RAD trades is just plain fantastic.

I bloody hate weekends.

I did the math today when I set my basket TP to 5% before NFP.
Starting with 1.000,- and I quit my job in 10 months after getting 5% daily.

EDIT: 5% daily = 26% weekly = 140% monthly.........!

I'm looking into a basket trail using MPTM, it should be in there. Start trailing @5% and then up.

I would suggest 5 multi-layer trades starting at the VVV lines, TP at next VVV. Distance between trades depending of ATR. Some pairs do 100pips in an hour, others take weeks to get there.

EDIT: starting at the buffer8 lines, closing at the buffer7 lines.
I bloody hate weekends.

:xm:
Like I said earlier; who invented no-trading weekends?
The real sick part is, the BIG guy's can trade whole weekend..... :arrrg:
Would hate the spread though.

Anyway, enjoy the weekend, and dream of piles of green!
