There is talk about 28 pairs several times in the hgb thread.
I have 41 pairs in my Global Prime terminal. Which is the 28 pairs I should focus on?
Stop at NZDCHF. All the others are known as 'the exotics' and HGB's is not guaranteed to work with these.

The 8 majors and their crosses; AUD, CAD, CHF, JPY, EUR, GBP, NZD and USD.

Hey Guys,

Just checking, does each instance of the EA require a unique magic number, the guide kinda suggest it does, but to me does not seem clear....

I have 4 pairs running and are currently using unique magic, but with many more pairs does increase chance of errors...

Also, just a little feedback....the OOTB setting for SendAlertNotTrade=False; will not allow the EA to trade and although i did read about it in the Guide, it did not stick in my mind that with a false setting, the EA would not trade....I was not expecting a setting in the "Email thingies" section of the EA would stop it from trading.....all good now, i have trades coming out my clacker....;-)

Steve, please don't growl at me...;-)

Wouldn't it be nice to have a possibility to set individual magic numbers on the different tradetypes like trend/rad/wave?
Deeper analysis would be much simpler then if using some site like myfxbook.

PLEASE be kind- I've spent two straight days reading every single post in HGI, HGI Basic, HGB, HGB Basic, re-reading both UG's and printing them out for constant reference, and still don't understand why this is happening: my HGB 2e is set to trade trend (instant and pending) and rad (pending only), both set to exit on TMA, YET the pending rad trades don't get deleted on the HGI yellow wavy which is showing as 'TMA Range Signal' by HGB 2e on the chart. There's a difference that I don't understand between "Rad Close on Opposite TMA" in the HGB properties and "TMA Range Signal" as shown on the chart? How do I get these pendings to close out?

Thanks in advance for expanding my understanding :)

I for one am not going to bang you in a thread where I am not allowed to bang you anyhow, and where you clearly have done your best to understand.

A couple of things.

1) HGI is the simplest comprehensive indi ever offered to us retail traders. Just because it is simple doesn't mean that understanding it is easy. Most of the rest of us have been confused by it since it first appeard. Fine if you do what I am doing manually and merely follow the signals and go in when they tell you to go in, and get out when they tell you to get out. A monkey could do that <ignores cries of, "And yes Steve, there is indeed a monkey here doing exactly that">. Possibly a tad harder if you are actually thinking about what is going on. Where I fall out with the manual trading guys is when they try to 'improve' HGI by adding silly crap custom abortions; I tend to get a tad pissy with them.

2) More relevant to you. boinvest did a lot of bug-hunting over recent days and spotted a monumental range of bloops/omissions from HGB's code. V 2f with fixes for these is imminent but I have cheerfully abdicated hunting down one more bug to him because, frankly, I am tired and not in the mood for bug hunting.

So, go with the flow for now and delete any trades that you feel HGB has left behind that he should have closed. If these problems persist once I release 2f, then the problem definitely lies at your end; if not, then great.

Well done for trying to sort this stuff out for yourself.

It's not an answer, but why instant AND pending trend trades?
You're supposed to chose one, or are you talking about the 20-pip stacking trades?

You bring up an excellent point- I just re-checked the UG but it's not specific to this point, therefore I ASSUMED that the HGB property "Trend Pending Trade" T or F was required to be True to permit the multiple positions to be taken. So having both Trend Pending Trade and Trend Instant Market Trade set to True would result in an immediate trade plus the multi-position stacking trades to kick in after 20 pips. That's what I was trying to accomplish. If I'm only supposed to choose one or the other, this is obviously wrong. FYI- at this point I'm just really trying to truly understand how all the pieces work and work together.

Really good to see some actually reading the user guide for a change instead of merely going OOTB and hoping for the best.

Leslie, your post highlights a weakness in the guide that arose from developments subsequent to the first edition. Do me a favour please. Leave a gap of about 8 hours for sleep time, then send me a pm sometime in the next 12 hours after that to remind me about all this and I will address it - just in case I forget. Ask any old stagers here why I might forget. Hic.
