I've now simplified my chart setup since my previous posts. I realized I only really need to look at the slope of the 10TMA as the 5TMA will always already be turning into the direciton we wish to trade before the 10TMA anyway. Also using the TMA bands I found a distraction so I am back to the MTF 10TMA centered to show the higher timeframe direction.

The next task for me is to see whether it is better to hold each position until the OBV_TMATrueslope (10period) changes color or continue to get out based on the hurst extentions. Or maybe exit half a position on the 100fib and hold the remaining half for the change in OBV_TMATrueslope? We'll have to see...
Hi Trader Joe, is this still what you are doing? If so how's it going?

Sorry to appear stupid but after a long illnes I seem to have forgotten how and where to to install the .mq4 and templates for the "HGI used with Hurst charts" as posted by Pedro 2.
Can anyone re-educate me and help me to set things up.

Thanks Oldfella

I have had some dealings with Hurst MA's on stocks using Peter Amaris program but for some reason that he could not fathom out it srpped working on my computer. So i am very interested to see how well it works on Forex.

hi oldfella!

Did you remember to close your platform down - then reopen it? I think you need to close it before new indicators etc appear?

Good luck & hope you are feeling better :xm:

Hi to RM and Viv,'

Thanks to you both for the advice, Yes, Viv i did close and reload the platform, but still no change. Perhaps someone who already operates the "HGI used with Hurst charts" could help sort this out as I have the feeling that something is missing and that Pedro 2's .mq4 and indi's are not complete on their own.

Also does anyone know whether it can be used with 15M charts as I Spreadbet for short term gains, which can be very profitable if you have a program that produces more pips than it loses.

Any help welcome

I had a coding request to put the TMAC into a MACD format, here's the result
DL Hurst MACD.PNG
The idea is that once the TMA's start moving closer together is signal for change in direction. This is shown in the Hurst MACD when the colour of the histogram changes colour. Input settings are available to change the TMA periods etc,

Looks promising, though bear in mind the nature of TMA based indicators to redraw. Forward testing definitely worth a try.

Hey Cherry, I've now ditched TMASlopetrue and reverted back to TMASlopeNorm (5period rather than 10) for both current and highertimeframe and I am scaling into positions upon candle open one period at a time once the following conditions are met:

TMASlope has closed one candle blue on both current and highertimeframe for longs, red for shorts.
Trade candle open if below 5TMA for longs, above for shorts.

I am experimenting with the number of maximum trades for each position upto 5 at the moment.

Screenshot is an example where only two trades would have been opened (please note I did not take this trade [edit: as CT] and the TMASlopeNorm does repaint but this is for illustration purposes only)

This is about as simple as I have got this hurst strategy and HGI is correlating a lot of my trades nicely :good:

I use the template TRADE for the main screen and SLOPE for the higher timeframe. I have squeezed MATRIX to have this as a reference on screen as I am also currently concentrating on the high swap pairs and trying to work this strategy around trading with +ve swap so this just helps me keep an eye out for HGI alerts on the other pairs so I don't miss something nice!

Just to expand on this example further if we look at the weekly chart the HURST shows the 5TMA is in the process of turning and there should be a few opportunities for long D1 trades on their way in the coming weeks which would also provide some tasty interest from the +ve swap on the way.

Does anyone else here trade to take advantage of the swap available on the AUD and NZD pairs? I am looking mainly at D1 for the following pairs because of the higher spreads.

LONG ONLY
NZDJPY
AUDJPY

SHORT ONLY
EURAUD
EURNZD
GBPNZD
GBPAUD

Interested to hear anyone else's experiences with these...

Thanks for your reply T Joe :good:
I've been playing around with various indies that have been posted in this thread. I seem to like the combination on daily of the OBV TMA True Slope with the TMA centered Histo on 10 for the D1 and 5 for the W1 also using the HA candles. All red or all green (with price above or below TMA centered 5) seems a good trigger. The main problem is the fact that the histo does sometimes repaint. I've not noticed it so much on D1 but did on a lower TF. All green, then changed to red and 3 bars later back to all green! However HGI and another indi also gave the thumbs up when the first all green set up before a foxy stop hunt a bit lower then price finally taking off.

I don't really know why but I'm not having much success with getting signals to paint with the HGI, so I'm looking to rely more on these indi's, backed up by PA and HGI when it signals on another chart.
I wish there was some way of getting the Histo to hold the bar colour it first paints as looking back it's hard to know how well this is really going to work. I do intend to test it out going forward though.

I'll post a screen pic but won't talk more about it as it's not really true to this thread.

EDIT, sorry I showed the first all red signal in Dec. which didn't have price above the 5, while the second all red was correct for a Hurst entry from above the 5.

PS: T. Joe, I haven't been able to find the TmaSlope_Norm to even try it out?! I've been searching for an hour!
