+122 pips today. In August, traditionally a hard month for trend trading. GJ, and I shut everything down when it appeared to be stalling. It remains to be seen whether I have left pips on the table.
PPoS is a faithful representation of the brief that PC sent me a few weeks ago but with multi-trading a la Bob added. The pips this adds to the original is huge.
PPoS is a highly successful trading robot. So far.
For reasons best known to the inceptor of the thread, Angat started a Brainstorming thread. I lost interest in this early on. I see that Lifesys has developed a PPoS2. I have huge respect for Lifesys - many of his features play a huge role in making my code safe. I have no interest in his EA. It will make a difference to me if PC comes to me and points out a significant improvement in his system; he will only adopt it after several months of using it manually and successfully. Until then, I do not care what anybody else thinks.
Baluda developed a barebones version. He airily dismissed my pointing out that it lacked any of the basic safety features that we have all developed over the years. I see people in his thread reporting the ea sending hundreds of trades in seconds. I knew this would happen.
So guys, the only version that I can recommend you use is this one here. It does what PC asked me to do originally and you can turn off the multi-trade stuff if you want.
So I am not sure why people feel the need to try to divert attention from what is a successful EA. These successes are few and far between. And yes, I am slightly irritated that people seem to feel the need to do so.
Contradict the boss - I am aware that this may not be the smartest thing to do. So I will try to avoid it.
As some of us, I am trading PPoS on demos (with different settings) and life and am happy to see my account double soon. Letting the demos run all the month, turning life off after the 17th and observing the different results, I think that the varying time gap between last day and last month (as defined by Baluda "arbitrary") might affect the performance negatively. Your feature to turn trading off after a defined period of days in the month is extremely effective.
That you have no interest in PPoS 2, fine, hard to understand but your choice, which nobody questions.
But there is another point: there are two EAs out, which do not work as designed:
1. PPoS v2 does not trade on many (also experienced) traders platforms - intriguing for coders. Is it a Empty4 issue - how to avoid for this and future EAs?
2. PPBB by Baluda - you knew it right away, it would run into troubles - I suppose above all an extraordinary coding example, perhaps also an element of a future trading EA, I do not know - only coders can estimate.
To make a long story short, Steve, here your very gently formulated "please" is heard as an ORDER which with great power risks to devaluate quests for solutions (you might not have any interest in today) but which are some of the essence of this forum.
It might be helpful to assign this discussion the Brainstorming Thread or an own PPoS 2 thread so that the PP/PPoS-threads do not get clustered by theses quests.
Thankful for your forum, which has taught me in many ways to trade and your generosity
