I plan on limiting my risk today as I have pulled many pendings off the board. I am staying with aud and usd buys and jpy sells. I am not touching euro currency pairs except gbp/aud and eur/aud. They could fly up and down at every possible rumor hitting the market. Here is a thought from one writer.

Remember indis mean nothing if news stories hit that make the market move.

What happens next? Well, the Cypriot parliament will vote on the deal tomorrow (conveniently, a bank holiday in Cyprus). This will be a nail-biter. The parties which supported Cypriot president Nicos Anastasiades only hold 28 out of 56 MP, so not a majority. Yesterday, Anastasiades issued a stark warning: accept the bailout deal or face “a complete collapse with a possible exit from the euro”. Given the huge stakes, I reckon that MPs will approve the deal, but it could be close – current voting arithmetic suggests 30 in favour and 26 against, but this is incredibly fluid. Even if the parliament does reject the package, there could still be room for further negotiation.
The bailout format is therefore a gamble on several levels. Most importantly, massive questions still linger over the precedent this sets. If Cypriot depositors are forced to pay today, why not Spanish ones tomorrow? People queuing up in massive numbers outside ATM machines is always an incredibly scary sight wherever you are and given the anger in Cyprus, we just don’t know how people will react when banks open again (unclear when, the Cypriot government may declare both Tuesday and Wednesday bank holidays as well). But fears of deposit-led contagion to other parts of the eurozone should definitely not be be overstated. EU leaders have gone out of their way to say that the depositor tax won’t be repeated in other countries.

Imagine declaring a bank holiday so a deposit tax can be enforced. Dont you just love the idea? Cyprus is a pin drop in the Euro economy the issue is the taking of people's deposits that are guaranteed up to 100K but may not be guaranteed against a govt. grab.

Hi Bob

I have installed the updated indicators however i am getting different values and order for the same currency between the 2 different indicators.... I noticed in your screen shot the values and the order were the same.

I have attached a screen shot below:

Do you have any idea what might be causing this??

Thanks

Ash
Hi Ash:
I don't know if you solved the problem, what you described above, but I had the same problem. So I was reading about the css indi on Baluda's indicator site and found the solution there. You have to change the input on auto TimeFrame to false otherwise it will read the values for the 4h chart if that is what you have up, then make sure you have the input timeframe set to D1 and it should read the same as the slope strength indi v1.0.3, it worked for me.

I'm waiting for RSI to flat line for a while before sticking an order in. It seems a little non committal and jittery.

Anyone else with thoughts on this?

No real large buying on weakness numbers in S&P 500 from the Tick charts today which means today's rise was purely all profit taking and short term opportunism from oversold conditions created by the gap down. Oddly, there was some selling on strength in the ishares Gold ETF which usually means people are still selling gold!

Well, GrimWeasal you ready? Oct 2008 all over again? You can win/lose a lot of money quickly. If you see some more bank holidays you know things are really bad.

Cyprus central bank says banks to be closed until Thursday. Wonder if this affects those trading companies in Cyprus?

Well that is the fear. That is why Cypress is first. Tiny country practice run. See what happens.

Thanks Davek!

That fixed it for me.

Thanks again.

We will see a lot of trades like this. We will learn to avoid them, or just accept that it is 1 out of 100 and the system still has massive positive expectancy and we lose more by skipping signals than by just taking them.

I agree it is a somewhat useless trade. But if you have to rely on discretion, or Bob to post something to keep you out of a trade, then the system needs a tweak. Were I trading this more conservatively, I would have reduced size. And given it one level of room around the 240, so it would have space to bounce. I didn't read that anywhere in the manual.

To me we need a much larger sample size, not cherry picked trades by expert traders. I intend to find the conditions where I can trust this thing, just place the pendings and let it fly.
Very sound system testing logic Mike, and I too am keen to hear your results after a large enough set of straight by the book 10.4 trades have been taken.

Of course you know exactly why that peaker pop-up above the 240 don't you. Foxey needed some liquidity to go short.

I suspect we'll need a sound tweak for trades close to the 240 LWMA. Foxey will like that opportunity too consistently. More breathing room required.
