Yesterday, mid-day Aussie time, HGB was in a draw down of over 300 pips and flirting with a margin call. Then came NFP ... and these are my results of trading HGB last version over the last two days:
HGB_All_12.04.png
This is split over Trend, Range and Rad trades like so:
HGB_Trend_12.04.png
HGB_Range_12.04.png
HGB_Rad_12.04.png
The word AMAZING does not do justice to this unbelievable piece of work. A gazillion thanks to all involved.

Hi Renexxxx, I love that trade display you've just posted. Is that an spreadsheet, program, indi? How do you do that? It sure makes analysis easy!

Hi Steve,

If by High wavy lines you are talking about buffer 7 (6 in base 0 for EA) and Low wavy lines about buffer 8 (7 in base 0 for EA) this is correct.

If you mean wavy lines on top of price or under the price this is not correct.

Wavy lines from buffer 7 (6 in base 0 for EA) are always telling you we entered the ±0.4 band, the position of waves are only telling you from where we are coming.
Wavy lines from buffer 8 (7 in base 0 fro EA) are always telling you we exited the ±0.4 band.

the position of waves only depends on which side of the band we are coming from or exiting from. See picture below for some visual explanations.
I know this is confusing, but I also wanted to show the wavy lines in term of Support & Resistance area, tell me if that's still not clear.
This is very useful! So does this mean:

If the last wavy line is GOLD (i.e. we are in a range) we are only trading RANGE trades

and

If the last wavy line is DODGERBLUE (i.e. we are outside the TMA [-0.4,0.4]-band), we are only trading TREND and RAD trades?

Nope. Colours have nothing to do with it; he did that for illustration purposes only. Reread Denis's pm as quoted in the post and work it out from there. Sorry, but there is no easier way to put it than Denis did. This indi has some way to go visually.

Your coming plans sound very good Steve, we're all in for one blast of a month of December :D
I guess I'll keep dabbling with the range trades, and see if I can come up with something... If I may ask though, what makes you not consider applying ATR to them too?

attached are friday's results for my small demo on single pair eurusd using 4tf..
started 7:30am, closed manually just after 6pm... net +253pips
nothing much happened before NFP, pips ranging from +20 to -30 & -70 just before NFP, to over 200 just after.. maxing at about +330 at the eurusd low point.

looking forward to see some "normal" or at least less spiky/news days next week.

cheers
