No problem here with 21 charts opened. CPU usage is flat.

No issue here either with 28 charts and loads of other stuff running on my PC.

Alright good to know. I'll re-setup everything from scratch over the weekend. Thanks for the feedback.

Are you sure? The NT indi thingy sending a billion subwindow errors a second slows my 6 month old machine to a crawl. The only way I can run the indi's is to have them going on one trading decision platform that I use to consult about sending the pendings. Then I have to shut it down to ensure my other demos will continue to do their testing thingies.

Once my trade manager is up and running, it will need its own platform separate to the trade-decision platform. Even on my fairly new machine, having multiple charts all sending the subwindow error umpteen times a second is a no-no.

I have already replaced my template (to fix the error msgs), changed 2000 bars to 200, and reduced the pairs to about 16 charts open. I have this terminal running alone on an XP vps on my private dedicated ESX5.1 physical server (HP DL380 G5) and it pegs the assigned cpu core to 100% persistently after some time.
I tried it on an old computer that I have and no problems. As you're running on a vps, maybe you need more ram? I had that issue and had to up my ram. Most people underestimate how much you need just to run the operating system, and then if you're running multiple Empty4's with lots of indicators..

I don't want to divert this thread too much for technical issues unrelated to trading 10.4 however, i will answer some questions in case it helps. I'm running VMWare ESXi so yes i know enough to have checked obvious things like does it have enough RAM free (commit is about 50% of vram assigned). Nothing else is running on this VPS whatsoever but, i do have other VPS's on ESXi (5 others). My overall avg CPU for the entire physical server is about 70%. Other VPS slices perform acceptably.

On this one vps i have noticed the CPU doesn't immediately peg out to 100%. While it does use a good bit immediately it seems i come back to it in a little while (hours) and i see it's pegged with very degraded responsiveness. I only have one core assigned to this VPS but, i don't think 2 would reduce it's CPU usage and make a huge difference --- its using a lot of cpu! I'll test anyway. As i said i will setup again from scratch and see if it helps.

I am in Shenzhen airport waiting to go to HongKong airport in 30 minutes.

Yes there are several things you can do. In the update switch to the Sto 5 which gives basically the same reads as the RSI 2 but will use less ram than the slope indi that is used with the RSI2. Another thing is to reduce down from 200 to 10 bars or switch to Baluda's pivot S/R. His will only show todays levels. You cant back test with his but if you have developed confidence in the system you can switch to his. You can save the 2000 or 200 for backtesting and the 10 bar or Baluda's for live trading. Just make a separate template for each and you have them at your fingertips. I will save each kind to a different profile so I can easily switch back and forth if I need to. He also has the mid pivots done I just havent had time to set up and post it yet so that will also help. That should really help those who have a RAM isssue.

Hi all,

FYI: Set showInfo to false in NT indi will turn off the error messages.

You are correct--I set it too tight.

Good thing I am practicing on demo to get my stupid mistakes out of the way

Bob mentions using the AO as confirmation for an entry, which would have made a difference on my EURAUD trade. If I had waited for the AO to change color it would have been a winner instead of hitting SL.
Not sure if it's a good idea because I think the purpose of the RSI2 is to place pending orders only, whatever the AO is. (-> correct me if I'm wrong)
I think the AO is just there for manual entries ? (color change in a trend with MA240 as SL). (-> correct me if I'm wrong)
My EURAUD made +45 pips today. You notice how your H4 candles differs than mine due to broker server time ?
Top of page 14 in the new manual:

the RSI 2 signals to set your pending orders and the AO confirms your entrances and warns you to exit

Bob also mentioned in a recent post not to use the AO by itself for entries. Not saying I am necessarily correct in my interpretation--I am learning like everyone. If I had either followed that or set my SL a little lower like you did I would have had a winner.
