I have backtested it and live trading for 3 days now. Sure, 3 days is nothing, but I have made more in this period than from last month. I believe there is potential when combined with other things (avoid news, respect S/R, go with trend, etc.) Just wanted to know Bob thoughts about it, because I am really excited with this...
Can you please elaborate what TYPE of trades you take on the 1 hour (for example: crosses outside the 20 lines), maybe show some set-ups. Also which sessions have you found the best so far. I find watching the CSS on the 1 hour fascinating and possibly the quickest way to learn the set-ups? |

Now how are you suppose to trade this crap. Australia Just Posted A Crazy Jobs Gain Of 121,000 For August - A Number So Huge, Nobody Believes It. The Australian Bureau of Statistics says Australia’s economy added a monster 121,000 jobs in August – a massive print that has everyone bewildered. The market had been expecting 15,000 jobs added. The unemployment rate fell to 6.1%, from 6.4%. So there are now more than 11.7 million Australians officially in work – an all time record. Maybe I should go to Australia for a job. LOL. |

Sounds awesome but you need to read the fine print - these are not "real" jobs, but part-time ones. Just as Canada has a tendency to heavily revise these numbers down, so will AUS. There was a bounce in AUD, but not much. BTW I am in AUS. The thing that has savaged me this week after my last weeks spectacular EUR gains was the GBP. OUCH!!!! This Scotland thing is bad. This could be a black swan event could mess up the world's economy. I warned last week to get out of GBP and did I listen to myself, nooooo. I panicked on Monday, took out some hedges on open positions and am now massively in DD both ways. Very silly. I have pretty much wiped out my first month of solid gains trading 10.6/9 on a live account in a couple of days. I was up over 2% on my account and am now on over 3% DD. So maybe I need some advice. How do we deal with and detect these wild swings on 10.9? Do we still just bail if the price action breaks 240MA? |

This is a wild market, up and down, down and up, all over the place. I would have almost bet the house with the eur going south for a while with the interest rate cut but NOOOOOOOOOOO it has to go back up again. I HATE FUNDAMENTALS WHEN THE MARKET DOESNT FOLLOW THEM. Interest rate changes used to be a sure bet for a couple of weeks. What did this one last 3 days? To answer your question. take each one, one at a time and reduce them out. OR Take all the profit ones and reduce your negatives and then see if you want to rehedge or counter trade. |

But as I wrote before, it is pretty much as Bob uses the CSS on other TF's, the only difference is that I wait for the major markets openings, check the angles on CSS and enter for a quick 10pips win, be very cautious not to catch any red news between or big round numbers and that the trend is clearly established. I will share more if things continue to do OK for me, but nothing would be possible without Bob's valuable posts that I have been reading for about 2 years... @Bob : my broker is Armada Markets, no problems so far, and the reviews over the internet are nice too... Good luck with all those major changes in your life, keep us posted! |

Thanks for your response, much appreciated. Sounds like a scalping technique. Scalping is my bread and butter, but always looking for new ideas. |

Hi Bob, You said once (as quoted above) that you are looking for some additional info about the angle of CSS lines. Do you know if someone (good programmer) wants to try this challenge ? |

If someone wanted to try but You could do it by hand. A daily chart would not change that much but it might be useful for lower TF. The cross of the currency going down over another currency right now works and would be close to the same signal though. |

But what it is observed, is that pair is moving before the cross happens between CSS lines. The price is moving when the space between the 2 CSS lines begins to change (decrease/increase). So I am thinking if we could have an indicator measuring this space but more importantly indicating its relative variation, we could predict more earlier what the pair is going to do. What are your thoughts Bob ? |

That would be like a MACD histogram. The bars go down/up as the lines come closer together and approach the 0 line. At the cross the bars would change direction like a histogram would. Histograms are easier to measure and see rather than eyeballing lines coming closer together. May not be a bad idea. Have no idea how to program that though. |
