Steve - I had this happening too. The new Empty4 builds seem to turn off the "Allow live trading" on the common tab of some EA's and not others when you do "something" - I haven't worked out what the hell that is yet though :arrrg: I suspect if you check this on MPTM you might find it's the issue.

Yep, it is. I have had this happen to several demo ea's but didn't think to check mptm. I shall add a warning paragraph about this to post 1.

The problem seems to appear when we disable experts using the AutoTrading button. Sometimes this turns off live trading in our ea's Common tab - and that bloody silly icon in the top right takes a bit of peering at after a certain age, so it can be hard to tell whether the silly sod is smiling or frowning. :arrrg:

We need a silly sod enlargement indi. :smile:

It's not just you Steve - it's just a cr@p design. If I remotely access my office pc with Teamviewer it is actually impossible to tell whether you are looking at a smiley face or a frowning one :shock:

Hard to test with the markets off so i don't know how functional it will actually be.
I could have detected no incoming ticks and force a refresh every x mins for the weekends now that i think about it

Hi,

Just wondering...anyone studied the possibility that the entry could be improved if we entered on pending order instead of directly.
i.e When there is an entry signal, instead of directly buying, create a pending buy at a filter of 2-3 pips above the high of the current candle.
In this manner, it might help to filter out some bad trades.

As it happens, I was just starting to ponder this myself. Do me a favour please spi, or anyone else with a few minute to spare. Study a few trades please and see what difference this might have made - I am heavily involved with updating mptm and do not have time right now.

Hi Steve,

I got a personal indicator which generates signals based on fractals on GadiOBV instead of price and my general observation for the signals on this version is that it would be better to enter on a pending rather than direct.
Maybe someone here can help to check this out on price.
From a brief glance it could help, the pending also should probably be set to expire around 30-45 minutes later.

Hi Steve, thanks for this amazing bot. I gave a look to the idea of Spider on entry to 2-3 points from the previous candle with a pending order and it is true that could filter out some wrong signals but also lose the good trade in case the order is deleted after 30-45 minutes.
I have noticed that if it were possible to include in ea the closing trade in case a candle M15 to close below the minimum or max (it depends on whether we sell or buy) of the candle that generated the fractal that we have opened the order.
In this case, you might choose to close the trade in negative or wait for the recovery and the closing of the basket so everyone can choose.
I don't know if it's a good idea but might protect us if the trade goes against us. I can't attach a picture because I'm using your mobile phone.

Hi,

Would just like to mention...if you are looking at this...you would need to consider that the signal candle is 2 candles AFTER the last fractal of the sequence.
My recommendation is to set the pending based on this candle at either the high or the low with a bit of filter, or even at the next 00 level.
Currently, i have a modified version of Fbob running with pending and expiry set as 1 hour.
Will see what happens.
