Not sure if you're interested in taking a look, but with my BASA strategy I had an initial entry criteria and a re-entry criteria. Steve managed to code both entry types into the EA. I have attached it here in case it helps you with the code.

Also, I will send Steve a PM and request his attention over here and see if he would mind coding an EA for us. Ultimately, I would like to be able to automate the strategy.

Patience is required when trading these higher time frames with only a handful of trades taken each week. Mind you my demo is up over 37% in 6 weeks and I'm pretty sure there are very few people trading lower time frames and are taking heaps more trades are getting anywhere near these results.

So it might well be worth developing some patience

yes they are superb results - anyone would be over the moon with them.

patience... hmmm.. that's the one - we'll see if i can.

is your exit stategy on trades that never reach b/e still the same as page 1? i.e. close only on reverse signal. is that something you think about or are considering changing? i've seen suggestions of fixed initial SL or exits on 3/8smma crosses etc.. or is the +37% telling you - this is fine as is.

My exit strategy is still exactly as page 1 rules.
I am wanting to run the demo for at least 3 months so I can review all trades and see what improvements can be made.

I'd encourage others to maybe test alternative exit strategies and provide feedback which may assist with potential improvements

Alternatively one can move the ea on the chart when it is in profit but on entry is may need a little more room to move.

Yes I completely agree...I would not have a 100 pip SL on daily timeframe at all.
For me personally, I prefer not to trade with a stop loss but if I was to have one it would be a 500 SL and continue to close at a change of signal.

I think it's too soon to say it isn't broken. If you look at a Weekly chart and see the rough area where GBPJPY 1 and 20 SMMA's are likely to cross if price continues down (and therefore we'll see a weekly trend change to trigger a close), that is 400 odd pips away. So the trade from the 24th would be over 700 pips in the red by then.

imo this is the only area that needs more consideration.

I am testing something but it will take a while to work through.
