Just to whet your appetites folks, I have added the ability to make the first RAD trade a pending as well as a market order.

I am about to take a bath, and so will work out how to do the wavy line trading. :lol:

Hi Steve,

I just want to say thanks to you and Bob and all the brilliant coders whom have collaborated to make this one of the most interesting and fun EAs I have ever used. It matches my trading style quite nicely (lots of action - even trading H4 exclusively)! Looking forward to the additions you mentioned above.

I've been lurking since the beginning of last week, but I just had to pop in to say thanks.

:idea: I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, or if it's too much bother: Would it be helpful to add a one-liner to post #1 that indicates the current EA version that exists there? I think I remember you saying something about how much you enjoy (not!) updating post 1 in your threads.

V 1k is in post 1. I have added:
  • the choice to make the first of the RAD trades a pending stop order.
  • wavy line grid trading.
  • ATR for stop loss and take profit. I have not implemented this for wavy line trading because the take profit of 30 lies at the heart of the strategy.
There is no stop loss for wavy line trading. Let's play with it at first and see if we need one. You can always use mptm set to manage by trade comment when we go live, to insert one for you.

There will be bugs. The coding involved a lot of copy/paste/edit and we all know my record there. :arrrg: They will be easy to find and so will take little time to eradicate. TMA Slope cannot be backtested, so I cannot use backtesting to test the code; we have to wait until the markets open.

We may find a need to have a minimum pips distance between the market and the first stop order in the Trend/RAD/Wave grids. If a Trend buy trade opens at 118,17, the next 20 is 118.20. Three pips is a tad close. RAD and Wave trades might be too close to the market for the first stop order to be accepted. We shall see; this would not be a difficult feature to add.

Details about the new features are in the User Guide, but you don't need it if you already know what I am talking about.

I hacked into the 10.4 SGG 20only indi code to find a more sensible method of ensuring the next price ceiling/floor is a 20 not a 10. I would have saved myself a fair few hours pain had I the brains to do this when I coded the scripts. :arrrg: Hey ho. The updated code is in the Holy Grail Long/Short scripts; I suggest it is best to redownload this and replace your previous versions. Good tight code is always better than ham fisted and long winded code.

Can't wait for the markets to open again. c. 28 hours to go.

Thanks for all your continued dedicated hard work on this. If anyone deserved the forex purple heart :youknow: (valor in the face of the oncoming retail Forex trading train wreck), I think Steve Hopwood would be the prime candidate (PH = US military decoration). :)
