A quick question regarding the NT TMATrue SlopeHisto MTF. Is it possible to set up this indi so that it appears only on selected TFs? I'm trying to get it to appear only on H1 and below, but not having much luck - I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to Empty4.

This should be easily done in the Indicator Properties.

• Open the Indicator properties via right click on the chart and click on "Indicators List".
• Select the Indicator with double click or select and click on edit button.
• Go to the Visualization Tab. Deselect the default "All timeframes" and select the Timeframes where you want the Indicator to be shown.

Simon - just right click, indicators, edit the one you want and go to the Visualisation tab & choose whatever timeframes you want. Default is always all timeframes.

I have a question about your MTF TMA slope indicator. I have tried to set up as you suggested over on the slope forum. Basically I use a M15 chart and then I set up 3 of the TMA slopes at M15, H1, and H4. And then as you suggest I apply a 21 SMA to the TMA slopes.

My question is whether I should use a "21" time period for the H1 and H4 TMA slopes. From what I can see by comparing to other charts, the MA values for the H1 and H4 charts are not correct when I have the M15 setup as described above. It seems that I need 4*21=84 for the H1 and and 16*21=336 for the H4.

Is this correct?

but you can also use the combination
TMA M15 - SMA 5

TMA H4 - SMA 80

it's only my fable for the Fibonacci sequence why I use the numbers above...

Not really...

I'm also working on M15 or H1 Charts and use only the 21 MA on the TMAs of the 3 TFs...
But this is only a suggestion...

You can try your MAs...I'm also experimenting with different MA's.

The values and calculation of you MA Period Settings are also ok and can work...this is nothing that I chiseled in stone...see it as guidelines...and do your own research...and if you find a good or better combination share it with us...

Not really...

I'm also working on M15 or H1 Charts and use only the 21 MA on the TMAs of the 3 TFs...
But this is only a suggestion...

You can try your MAs...I'm also experimenting with different MA's.

The values and calculation of you MA Period Settings are also ok and can work...this is nothing that I chiseled in stone...see it as guidelines...and do your own research...and if you find a good or better combination share it with us...

OK sounds like you are using the same setup as me. Focusing on your windows with the H1 and H4 TMA slopes, my comment is that 21 SMA in these windows is not correct. Basically the moving average is being applied on the M15 timescale so it is only going back about 5 hours. By comparison, it should be going back 21 hours in the H1 window.

I was triggered on this issue as I noted how the H4 window behaved and how the TMA slope line was always so close the moving average and jumping across it all the time.

This would become clear if your MTF slope indicator plotted as a series of points, rather than as a line. On the H1 and H4 windows it plots as a flat line while the H1 and H4 bars are still open and active. But my guess is that there still are a number of points on these flat lines. And these points are being counted as part of the moving average.

Does this make sense? I can post some plots to illustrate my points.

Here are some more details

At 13:30 GMT on the Eur/USD plot, focusing on the H1 window, the TMA slope is 0.038. If I put a 21 SMA indicator on this window, the value of the MA is +0.134 and the TMA slope is below it.

But as I said, this is not the a 21 hour value of the moving average. A true 21 hour value would be -0.2468 and the TMA slope would be above it. In other words, the opposite of the above.

Does this make sense.
