Hi,

12h30. Profit down due to 2 EU hedge trades opening instead of one. No idea why

Hi, I'm looking forward to being able to play with the EA. I'm happy to suspend judgement about what it does or doesn't do till then. I think it will generate profits with a limited degree of risk - if needed a blow out trade this can be managed with some future add on element.

Tks Pooler and Mantkinth for the work so far.

13h25. Some pairs like GN are giving "trade context is busy" errors so only one hedge trade opened but up to level 5 Strat 1 which is creating larger draw down. Still surviving though--barely

first of all a big thank to Pooler and whoever is putting a lot of effort into this..I'm following it with much interest and learning a lot about grids, which I never considered.

Caillou, just a clarification/question on your comments: the advantage with Pooler approach is that you have defined SL and TP for each buy/sell order you start at the same price. This allows you to always have a "safety net" and take out some profit on the way no matter of market direction.
If you would "just" sum buys and sells of strategy 2, as you suggest, then you would be left with a single order open.

It means you are exposed in a total different way to the market..and how would you then manage the SL and TP for the resulting single order in order to be consistent with Pooler’s approach?

Sorry, just trying to fully grasp all those informations from both of you, maybe I miss something as well...
Keep on going! :D

GU and EC kaching :)
Good morning Pooler

See your first 2 EUR/CAD trades: Buy 0.2 and Sell 0.1. Try just Buy 0.1 and you will have the same results. And so on with each level......
You're not getting the overall strategy. Its not "And so on for each level.."

If that price carried on for 4 levels you would end with far more profit than with level 1.

Please study the spreadsheet properly and read my posts. I'm not going to answer this over and over. Hopefully (soon) one of these live trades will demonstrate what I'm saying ....
Ok...I give up. Hopefully soon too you will understand that hedging at the same price with a lower lot size is the same as trading in just one direction.........

Good luck Pooler
Why don't you for example buy 1 lot (instead of buying 2 lot and selling 1) for lvl 1, buy 2 lots for lvl 2, buy 3 lots for lvl 3, ok after that the chandelier stop is hit suggesting the sell is over so then buy more lots.

This is the same outcome as what you are doing now.

Hi,

15h00--hanging in there. Lets see what New York opening does.

16h21. Hanging in there. Please look at GN. Due to errors-- 5 buys opened at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 lots respectively....but only 1 sell (hedge). If the other 4 sells had opened you can add + $ 130 to the equity which makes a big difference in draw down and profitability.

So just opening 1 buy makes a big difference (negatively) as you can see from above example

Pooler, you need a very high leverage account to trade martingale/hedge EA. I recommend 1:500 at least. Good luck.

Yep,

I hear you. This demo was a test to see how much draw down it can manage. I'll NEVER trade an account with these settings

Hi,

Still busy. Just haven't been able to post due to busy year end time at work/day job.

Still trying to solve problem with hedge closing before strat 1. Increases profit but draw down still an issue.

A luta continua :)
