Hi Angelo,

First it seems the zoom-in/out of both charts are different.

Next, you should only remove the currencies you don't want to show from the output, not from the line where the currencies are listed that the indi should 'read' for the calculations.

Last, yes, if your broker doesn't offer all the pairs that others have, your outcome will be different but should be the same for both your charts.
Hi Gertje,

thanks for your quick reply.

I didn't change the zoom, but perhaps the template was saved with different zoom factor.

Anyway zoom shouldn't change the angles etc., no?

So i shouldn't remove certain currencies from the indicators "read" settings (even if i don't want to look at these currencies at all)?

Seems then like the CSS values will always be calculated for the whole basket and not for just selected pairs?

(I also thought taking currencies out of the indicators "read" settings would reduce load on Empty4 /CPU ...)

But wouldn't that give a "wrong" picture of a particular currency pair? I mean if this pair's values are calculated in relation to all other curencies in the indicator basket, instead of its own relation solely?

And what does the "autoSymbols" setting do?

If i use it with the "weighOnlySymbolOnChart = true" setting, it gives different chart info when set to "true" or "false" (s. attached Screenshots).

So which setting to chose for "single" pair?

Perhaps some settings are conflicting?
Hi Angelo,

Autosymbols uses ALL pairs in the marketwatch, also the exotics.
If you only want to weigh the pair, use "weighOnlySymbolOnChart = true" and it will do just that, weigh the symbols on the chart.

Zooming in/ out will change the visual slope, not the value printed on the side.

The CSS-info page is there to get a overall-view of the strength of currencies, the CSS on any chart gives the strenght for the two currencies in the pair.

Best,
Gertjan

Another point that you might be missing AnGri is the guts of how the CSS works - simply put it compares the strength of each currency Vs the entire selection of currencies in currency pairs you have chosen - using each pair. Mmmmm....maybe I shouldn't have started that with the word "simply"

What that means is - if you have all the standard symbols included and are looking at the CSS for all currencies and you look at the GBP "line" - it is comparing GBP to USD/AUD/NZD/JPY/CHF/EUR to get the GBP strength. If, for example, you have omitted GBPNZD from the list of currencies as you don't trade it then it will just compare GBP to USD/AUD/JPY/CHF/EUR so of course the line and strength will be different.

I hope that makes sense!

Cheers,
Dave.

EDIT: Bear in mind with my first "simple" sentence that if you choose "weighOnlySymbolOnChart" then you are looking at the relative strength/weakness of the single selected pair of the chart the CSS is on only. So if it is on GBPAUD - it compares the strength of GBP Vs AUD but takes no account of the relative strength of GBP Vs any other currency or AUD Vs any other currency.

Hi Bob, Steve and everyone here,

my name is Angelo and i'm very happy to have found this forum and especially the 10.6 thread.

I've registered a couple of weeks ago and since been busy digesting the wealth of info supplied by all the contributors here. Thank you all for this trading treasure chest :D.

As 10.6 seems about to morph into 10.7. i would like to get a better understanding of the involved 3 (new?) indicators, because i don't like to trade with a sort of blackbox-indicator.

Thus i hope it's not to much to ask for a little more info regarding these indicators.
Anyway, i realize my question for more info might just be a little bit too early right now, but i couldn't help it as i feel so excited about what's coming :yahoo:

Thanks again.

May the Pips be with you :!:

Angelo
Each indicator will be explained then they will be combined. 10.7 thread will be stated today and I hope to be done before the weekend is out. Milanese has done his job now I need to do mine. People seldom get to see in detail what goes into making a system. It can take months but that is the way it is.

Short entered at DP. In direction of H4, with STO7/Indi confirming.

Currently trade is about +35 pips with multiple positions.

Image also shows CSS setup to alert, give advance notice to the pending trade.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.
Bob, I wish I had this ATR deviation and CSS years ago.. Back then the VWAP was our standard to trade against. This blows that out of the water.

I show the following info in the hopes that it will help others and allow me share how I am using the Edsel System with the system / techniques with which I am most comfortable. The combination is incredible and very profitable.

Update on the EURUSD Short:
I am Still Short EU. Closed 1/2 position for +68 pips. I maintain a partial position in the event price does not bounce and drops further, while at the same time I book some profits to maintain equity increases. Stops are adjusted to b/e +10 to give market room to breathe in the event of a bounce while not allowing position to go negative. I have additional Sell orders already in place for any potential bounce back up to the MST level at 1.3750. If market does not bounce, have position for further drop (which I expect). Target is -1 deviation from mean on Daily. Building position for major downside move. I expect a further drop down to 1.3585 to 1.3550 before a short term retracement which will be used for putting in new shorts. Take profits on the lows before the turns.. let market bounce, use bounce for new sell positions (as long as trend remains down). Longer term (1-3 months?) looking for move to 1.3226/35 level. Even longer term, down into the mid 1.20's. There are MST's to be hit in that area.

Here is a pic of trade screen and how I have add/adopted CSS, STo7 and ATR to my current style.
Notice how the ATR shows the potential for price to move to certain levels based on it's norm of trading 1 deviation from the mean.

I have current positions on also:

Short EURNZD - targeting 1.5985
Short EURUSD - targeting 1.3585/1.3550
Short GBPNZD - targeting 1.9285/88
Long NZDUSD - targeting 0.8632/35
Long USDJPY - targeting 106.26/35 (long term swing)
more to come...

Cheers and pips to all.
Update: 4/4/14 NY session
Short EURNZD - targeting 1.5985 Closed 17 pips prior to target.. + 133 pips.. Signal later turned back down, and price moved to original target.
Short EURUSD - targeting 1.3585/1.3550; Still short, and added on Jobs report short term lift, selling the rally. Currently about +35 pips on new positions.
Short GBPNZD - targeting 1.9285/88... Target hit.. stops moved. New TP level adjusted downward to -1 ATR, near 1.9200 area. Update: Closed position, +177 pips.. price bounced to mean ATR, at target, closed.
Long NZDUSD - targeting 0.8632/35... Currently holding nicely, about + 65 pips
Long USDJPY - targeting 106.26/35 (long term swing) - position holding near -11, with orders to fill @ -2 and -3 ATR.

Great session.

SLV.. great pop on session.

Cheers
