Any idea why the CSS indicators don't display in the weekend, after market close? Not even with an artificial tick, which activates other recalcitrant loaders. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I would like to do some analysis on eur/aud which are rapidly moving towards each other on the daily CSS. |

Try Global or CITI demo. I find they work with either one on weekends. Also you need to have save charts checked in the options section. |

I would appreciate some help interpreting the attached chart with CSS indicator. The strength of aud is weakening and is now below +0.2 The weakness of eud is strengthening and is approaching the -0.2 Both slopes are quite steep and seem to be heading for a cross at the -0.2 line either on Monday or Tuesday (you got to love the predictive power of CSS). The question is what will happen when they do cross. Will we see a rapid reversal in price? I would like know beforehand what the expected possibilities are, I obviously lack the necessary experience with CSS. I have a hedge on eur/aud, with buys at the 1.44 level (top red line) and sells at the 1.38 level (bottom red line). I am keen to close the buys if a reversal in price is likely. Alternatively if a reversal is not at all certain, I might retain my hedge and continue the #1 Successful hedging strategy as mentioned in the Trading Without a Stoploss thread on FF. Any ideas on the expected possibilities would be much appreciated. |

Hi No indicator can predict the future! It is all based on past events. Without going into the underlying fundamentals predicting what would happen in the future is impossible. However, based on the CSS you posted it seems in the currencies are in a range. Once they cross and move away from +20 or -20 they increase their acceleration. However, there is no guarantee of a cross, they may flat line for a while or they may revert back to their previous positions. Obviously if they cross at their present angle and move past +20 and -20 then we will have a strong reversal. I strongly urge everyone to familiarize themselves with CSS by reading the first TWO pages of this thread over and over till they know it by heart. Now this is what BOB says regarding your example: " . See page2 for the charts BEST OF LUCK MY FRIEND Kind regards PS. In particular master the concept of acceleration and deceleration. |

It seems some traders have not grasped the working of the CSS. I hope this post helps to clarify this and to help these traders. I trust BOB will let me know if I have misunderstood anything. When I returned to forex trading after a period of absence BOB told me to learn CSS inside out. This was the best single advice I have had in trading. Before I used to be classed a counter trend trader, now days I prefer the title of CSS trader. At first I did not grasp the concept of the car accelerating and decelerating. After few reads and studying the examples it was much clearer. I also made a few bullet points of BOB`s teaching as quick memory joggers in my trading note book. I hope some people find this post helpful. These are extracts of BOB`s posts and I am quoting him. * Best CSS signals are at the beginning of a session. Volume increases at start of session and peaks 2 to 4 hours. * When a currency is stronger than the other, the stronger currency will be up. * When two currencies are parallel up/down/flat, they will range but the stronger currency will have stronger moves. * When the CSS lines cross back and forth the price ranges but the moves are still good. * When 2 lines cross and angling in opposite directions you have the best trend moves * When they cross outside +20 and -20 in opposite directions you have strong trend moves (i.e. from inside +20 or -20 to outside) *When they cross outside +20 or -20 you will have good moves because they are both travelling fast. * When they cross inside +20 / -20 they are both starting to accelerate from 0, but the one angling up towards +20 will be stronger. * When a currency above 0 is angling strong down and a currency below 0 is angling strong up they are both decelerating and they will range until the cross or change of angels, however, the stronger currency has the advantage. * When two currencies are running parallel to each other they are ranging. Does not matter if they are flat parallel, angling up or angling down. They will range but the higher one has the advantage. **REMEMBER MARKET RANGES 70% of the time. Please feel free to add any points that I may have missed. Kind regards |

Thanks for the bullet points, very useful. Just a question on time frames. You are talking about sessions, that would mean intra-day trading, using maybe 4 or even 1 hour charts. Did Bob not mention that he uses the daily CSS, because even the 4 hour whipsaws too much, let alone the 1 hour. I would appreciate your comments on this. |
