Thanks jollyroger!

Forgot to add, I have a Computer Engineering background and am "decent" at coding, so hopefully can be of assistance for small coding stuff.

I'm already deep into learning MQL4 and have been working on my own consolidated indicator the past couple of weeks to help me with relevant info.

Here's what it looks like:

Few questions/comments:

1) I noticed that the TF indicator on the SuperCSS does not change if you set it for AutoTF and then change TF's. It always shows D1. Unless I'm missing something? I'm using the Gary.Baluda v1.4.

not used in this system ignore it. Only works when doing multiple currency comparisons. Since not comparing with other currency pairs the numbers are the same.

2) Is the output of the above indicator comparable to that of the CurrencySlopeStrength indicator? They seem to show different outputs (even on the same TF) although the patterns seem to be comparable.

formulas are different so not the same. One compares all seven major currencies against all seven currency pair combinations while the other only compares the two on the screen.

3) The Gary.Baluda.CSS has "weighonlysymbolonchart" set to true by default. Should it not be false so that it gives an accurate depiction of the currencies movement against the basket of currencies? If it's set to true, then two lines will essentially just be mirror reflections of each other (or maybe that's the point?)

it means what it says true uses only currencies on the chart. False uses all the currencies.

Trying to recover from a $5k loss in my first month of trading - when I knew nothing at all and thought I was going to "outsmart" the market after Brexit (buying GBP). Ha! I've learned so much since then!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Bob for the fast reply and info!

Ok, got it, so AutoTF should be "true" for this method and the display will show "D1" regardless - but it's to be ignored.

Still a bit confused on the "weighonlysymbolonchart". The indicator has it set to "true" by default, but in another post by Baluda:

"Setting 'weighOnlySymbolOnChart' to true significantly changes how the indicator works. Using this to lower resource use is not a good idea."

From my understanding, CSS is based on TMA_slope values, so if the above is set to "true" it will give similar information to a TMA_slope indicator.

However, setting it to "false" would give additional information because it is now comparing the two currencies to the entire basket of currencies.

For example, on EURUSD, setting to "true" compares strength of EUR to USD only. Setting to "false" compares EUR to all other currencies and USD also to all other currencies. More info, thus more sound trading decisions.

Unless I'm completely missing something here 8-)

For CSS weigh only is symbol on chart is not used so it's set to false. For the Super CSS it is used so there it's true. When Super CSS and regular CSS agree you have a powerful trade.

So it will say gbp/chf cross up or down. gbp/chf cross up 2.0 or cross down 2.0 or cross down -2.0 or cross up -2.0. Hopefully this will cause fewer signals and which direction that currency pair is going.
NB,

One question on the attached PIC when the field WeightOnlySymbolOnChart is set to true. The weight of the two pairs is inversely (positively correlated and negatively correlated) equal. It should not be the case.

Thanks,'

CADJPY H1, H4 CSS. From last week, not the best of entry.

Red trend arrow, blue wavies and now a red rad, give confidence.

Yes, that is what I was saying :-) It seemed odd to have both signals inversely tracking each other...

But now I'm wondering if it is by design rather than erroneous?

That's how it works when comparing only two currencies against each other. As one gets stronger the other inversely gets weaker. CSS compares all these angles from all 7 major currencies and then posts the average of all seven to get one line. This then let's us know which currency is running stronger or weaker compared to the others.
