In case anybody missed it in Bob's thread, attached is GD2 set to ambush the Yen.

No guarantees as usual. What fx8000 wrote makes sense to me but that does not guarantee success.

We shall see.

Unfortunately, the big moves are over. Very choppy today for yen pairs and not a lot of retracement either.

I had to drop down to M15/M30 to catch some pips, only suitable if one is trading real time.

Maybe better set ups in the next couple of days.

Stochastics are ideally suited to trading pullbacks if a pair is trending strongly.

e.g. GBPJPY M15 three winners and one loser.

I just noticed you need to make the lot size larger if you utilize the partial close feature...
Please don't ban me for this mistake!
I had a 80+ pip trade on the cadjpy 30M TF....

Hmmmmm. Let's see. I want partial lot closure. Now, I wonder if the lot size in the default allows this? Hmmmmmmm. I wonder............................................................... Better look and see? Naahhh. No need to bother......................................

We have a nice pull back this am. Let's see if we catch any green pips.

I am trading M30.

HI all, :D
@ rossT, yes it does sometimes slow down the growth, but the idea is to save some of the pips if there is a possible pullback.
Look at the methods used and see if you prefer trying a different method or tunring strict Shelley off. Mine is exactly as it was set before the Yen Ambush. Nothing chnaged there except the buy long only setting.
Trying something different with different magic numbers for the 4hr charts, but this Yen AMbush was on 30M charts from the start.

I had no trades yesterday except for 2 gold trades using the ambush yen idea. They didnt work out. I really like the idea though.

Today is another story, i had a few as pictured and the part-closure kicked in. Currently the orig position is negative, but still a great idea to demo, thanks fx8000.
I also think the big move is over, especially that we see the USDJPY at 100. There was talk of possibly 110, but i dont want to be the guinea pig there , hahaha.
I'm leaving the demo on just incase though , and once its clear we are not going north anymore, i will revert settings for the south side.
Neat idea for Gday. Thank you.

Trading lower time frame M15/M30 is a scalping strategy. Need to keep BE tight and JS or trail. The big moves are over, so must stop a winning trade turn into a loser.

The retracements are so small today, M15 tf is better.

Could try Steve's 10.3 jump ea. At present, I am using Steve's MPTM to manage the trades, BE 15+5 js5 SL atr 1, TP atr 1.

When the retracements are small, we need to improvise.

I have gathered some pips today by trading Bob's 10.5 but using M30 instead of H1. When stoch is < 20, place pending orders on the daily pivots. Use Bob's 10.5 template but change tf to M30.

If you are trading manually, sticking slipshod's SS_SupportResistance indi on the chart shows at one glance if price has reversed from there prveviously.

I am doing this only on yen pairs because of the strong trend. Otherwise, will be asking for trouble.

Like yesterday, the momentum was still present after London close. I launched a basket on demo on M15 after London close.

Yen trend still quite strong.

I would normally stop trading at 5pm (GMT+1).

A bit risky to trade M15 before Frankfurt open. I will set up again at 7 AM tomorrow.

We have a nice retracement in the yen pairs this evening. I have set up a demo on M15 to see how it goes.
